They fit but are tight. You could have a 3" single made easer. It would flow about as good as a dual 2 1/4". The "Y" pipe would make or brake (Break) the flow. A factory "Y" is not good but a "FlowMaster" type is good.

I have 2 1/4" duals on my 66 Barracuda. I only have pictures of the right side where it gets close to the tank.
'67 is an abbreviation of 1967 67' is an abbreviation of 67 feet They are not interchangeable.

A body gas tank straps went from side to side through 1967; straps changed to front-to-rear in 1968. The gas tank itself is in the same place, the frame rails are in the same place, springs are in the same place etc., etc. I have stock Walker replacement tailpipes for a 68-up 340 on my 65 Barracuda (with 69 Barracuda tips). They fit like a glove. Unfortunately, the Walker pipes are NLA. But, basically, whatever will fit a later A will fit the early A, with a slight intrusion from the side-to-side strap which 67 A's also have. So tailpipes shouldn't be any harder to make for the early A's than for the later A's.

The early As had more room on one side of the tank because they only had single exhaust. so it is tight. but a good shop can bend around it. they also dont have the extra notch in the trans crossmember. i cut mine and welded it back in.

I got the notch taken care and actually was going to let it go with the exhaust ending at the axle but the fumes are too bad inside the car so it definitely needs tailpipes. I was thinking about dumping it out the side before the rear wheels but the muffler outlet is too far back so that would be as much trouble as tailpipes.
i dont think it would be that hard to get the pipes out in front of the rearwheels actualy,it depends alitle on how the mufflers are possitioned i have done a few brand x exhausts with the mufflers in the factorylocation, then added a 180degree bend out of the muffler pointing the exhaust forward again and then a 135degre bend to make it point out and back in front of the rearwheels, but it depends on if you have enough space betwen the front of the rear framerails and the muffler this wont work as good with subframeconectors but if they are not in the way its easy me i prefer exhaust all the way out the back, mostly since its slightly more challanging to build it that way
