This might be a silly question but have to ask anyway. Why are the carbs turned sideways on a tunnel ram, and if that is better for whateever reason, why wouldn't you turn them sideways on a single 4 manifold for the same reason?

Only the double pumpers are turned sideways and it's so they will fit in the limited space.

there's little or no effect from launching that changes the fuel level and prevents tossing fuel out of the vents

jet changes are as simple as pulling the exposed bowls off.
