I'm looking for a set of wheels and hubcaps for a '68 HEMI Charger and I have a block casting question: what's the difference between 2 identical blocks: the casting dates are exactly the same and the casting numbers are the same but one ends with a 1 and the other ends with a 2. many thanks, Tom

AFAIK is As Far As I Know.. But your correct D/N & the pointer covered day & night shift... But -1 -2 -3 covered how many rebuilds of the sand casting core had been done at the time the block was cast..

68 Hemi Chargers had two different hubcap options depending on what kind of brakes the car came with(generally speaking). Drums had the small dog-bowls and Power Disks had the full size turbine type wheel cover. Which do you need?

^ not exactly

The STANDARD "hub cap" on the '68 Charger regardless of any option was part number 2768 007:

this is a drum brake car and I'm looking for Dog Pans. that's the info I have: this is the hubcap, if it's a HEMI

The only OPTIONAL "wheel cover" at $24.60 (OPTION code 581 - "DELUXE" wheel covers) on a HEMI equipped R/T was part number 2881 753:

Can anyone verify if there were two different heights of these hubcaps? I've heard that the 14" caps were shorter than the 15".
I agree that the 15" (dog dish) hub cap was standard on the disc equipped hemi's in 68.
The full wheel cover was the sole option (and one could not get 15" chrome steel road wheels on mopars in 68).
