But I really think this local Pontiac GTO is a real sleeper. It's got a 476ci ProCharged solid cammed motor and it clocks high 9s with ease.
Now that's my idea of a sleeper

Notice a "trend" here, I see a bunch of GMs
Sure I do, but look at both offerings from GM and Ford and then look at what Mopar drips out. The new hemi was kicked out the door and development just stops. Compare that to all the variations and evolutions of the LS engines and the mod motors. Until Chrysler decides to be a player with a real performance division and an actual ongoing R&D department, the trend will always be GM or Ford.

410" stroker, 850 dp holley, Edelbrock heads, stage 2 ported by Ryanj, airgap intake also port matched, Milodon gear drive timing set, 10.8-1 comp quench motor. Hooker headers, 3500 stahl converter, 727 trans, 4.10 gears. And more.....
Some of these cars listed are Factory muscle cars and are far from being sleepers !
Yeah, well, what's it run?
I know, I know, you never are supposed to know what the best sleepers run!

Some of you guys have a strange idea of what a sleeper is. Tubbed, tube-chassis cars by virtue cannot stake claim to "sleeper" status. Blowers and chromed out engine compartments are automatically out. Heck, mag wheels, spoilers, and racing stripes ruin the vibe for me... but hey, thats me.
Mine may not be the fastest car in town, but it plays the sleeper role to a tee in my book, going 12.30's at 110+ with hub caps and a fairly stock to the eye vibe.
...would this be sleepy enough?

We have a local guy with a mid 80's Chevy Monte Carlo,on 24's it runs mid 10's and on slicks high 8's ,but it makes close to 1000rwhp. This looks like a stock street car with big stereo, full interior, etc.
This car was built at the shop I work at and its pretty nasty. It has a 400 cid procharged SBC that makes about 670 rwhp with a 200 shot for good measure. It has been 135 mph on those big wheels. It has been high 8s at 145 mph www.youtube.com/watch?v=DnoNYzen1KM Its the silver car. WITH NO ROLLER BAR

Yep, same here.
Shiney bright colored namebadged musclecars need not apply.

I like that. Good use of full front wheel cover and white walls. The rear chrome rim should go though.
