I'm hoping MINE will be the best sleeper around in our area in the spring... we'll see... Small block, 3.23 gear, small hydraulic roller cam, E85 and a TURBO... Hoping for mid 10's or better on little tires but we'll see... I guarantee we'll give just about anybody a go from a roll though... I'm not even going to wash it...

Some of you guys have a strange idea of what a sleeper is. Tubbed, tube-chassis cars by virtue cannot stake claim to "sleeper" status. Blowers and chromed out engine compartments are automatically out. Heck, mag wheels, spoilers, and racing stripes ruin the vibe for me... but hey, thats me.
Mine may not be the fastest car in town, but it plays the sleeper role to a tee in my book, going 12.30's at 110+ with hub caps and a fairly stock to the eye vibe.

Under hood. A few clues here, but still fairly stock looking. Most would think its an average 14-second 383.

Alway's thought my Valiant was a pretty cool sleeper. Many times people would come up to me in the lane's at E-town and tell me I should bring the car to the street race's in Newark and I also had guy who wanted to buy it for the same reason. Of course he didn't want to pay me any real money for it. (Best pass 11.96/113)
Love the faded green paint and road rash.

I consider my finned-heap somewhat of a sleeper, eventhough it's not that fast. Haven't been able to make a full 1/4mile pass with it yet but it does an 8.2 on the 1/8mile. It has a 500" stroker with vintage longram-intakes and is stockish cammed with 1.6 rockers. Restrictive shorty headers into a 2.5" non-mandrell bend exhaustsystem. I've got a solid rollercam upgrade planned for the motor and I would also like to upgrade the exhaustsystem oneday with full length headers and 3" system, but with a number of other project cars in my garage I doubth this will happen anytime soon. But I really think this local Pontiac GTO is a real sleeper. It's got a 476ci ProCharged solid cammed motor and it clocks high 9s with ease.
