Well while replacing my head dowel pins on my 440 I must have had a brain malfunction because I put the first one in the hole at the front of the engine just below the place it should go, it slipped in and now I can not grap it with anything. Is this hole a oil supply for the rockers ,anyone ever had this problem before?

Can you see it? Is it still parallel with the hole? What have you tried?

Clean the oil of it with some MEK or carb cleaner then JB Weld a handle on it and pull it back out. That is if a good magnet won't wiggle it back out.

If it's somewhat loose try a shop vac and see if you can suck it out.

Oil supply to the rockers is the raised area in the valley @ the #4 cam bearing.. I believe you have plugged a coolant passage..

Well nothing else is working so I think I will try to weld a small stud to it and then pull it out

Do you have access to a stud gun used in bodywork? ideal tool for the job...

An arc welder will also work. Turn off welder and touch the welding rod to the end of the dowel pin. With the rod still in contact with the pin, have someone turn the welder on and off. The rod should stick to the pin. Pull the rod and pin out of the hole.
You may have to increase the current, but not the duration to make this work.
