My 1998 2500 V-10 shut down while driving yesterday. A small pop sound, then it died. Will turn over but not start. Fuel pump is working. Fuses okay. Only thing found, air pump hose was "blown off" the pump nipple. I'm guessing either crank sensor or computer. Any other thoughts? Thanks!

sounds like the crank sensor, not hard to change and cheaper than the ECM.

More info. The check engine light never came on, and a friend's code reader showed NO codes in the system.......

When my 96' V-10 Ram did that it was the computer.Although it wasn't while driving. Came back from the race track dropped off a few buddies in the driveway. We were B.S.'in for 15-20 minutes. Went to go start it & just turned over but would not start.

Need to check for spark, and make sure you injectors are pulsing before you go swapping parts
