what size exhaust would be enough for a twinscrewblown 340 at about 14pounds of boost ? small solidroller 242/248@.050 .570/.576 lift ported edelbrock heads and 1 7/8" primary headers on ethanol

3" or 3˝"

borla or magnaflow? i want straight thru but not sure if the packing in the magnaflows will survive the heat for very loong since this thing will be driven to the track and back and to local cruisenights alot

looking at either the 18"body magnflows or 16" body borla mufflers

i realize this wont be a quiet car by any means but trying to keep it at a level wich is tolerable

any sugestions ?

also im not made out of money for some odd reason but i dont mind spending the extra money if the quality diferens is there to justify it

thanks

I would go 3.5" Magnaflow with an X-pipe (If 3.5" pipe will fit). I have never disliked the way a car sounds with Mangaflow mufflers. The X-pipe will aid in taming the exhaust note as well as help flow.

What size is the collector and how many revs do you turn

collectors are 3" but will cut them of and weld on some 3˝" collectors if it would make a diference in power that is noticeable engine is still waiting to be finnished but i think this thing may peak around 7-7500rpms same combo as NA motor realy liked being shifted at alitle over 7000rpms while my thinking is that the blower will shift the powerband even higher since it should take away any limitation the heads are to the rpm.

I can't say the magnaflows are quiet. Heck, my 2 chamber flowmasters were about the same.

thats some nice work what brand is that x-pipe? im not all that in love with the x-pipe sound but power and streetability in the same package is nice

also i will probably have my exhaust go all the way out the back with some turndowns just sticking out under the bumper and from the experience i have with exhaust i have learnt that pipes all the way out behind the car helps alot with soundlevels

true, i do have the smallest one because i wanted the loudest sound lol...the clips i have on youtube are actually very quiet compared to it in person...they are loud! all i know is that gauging from what i have heard many say, the magnaflows will be the quieter of the two in general, while still sounding good and delivering awesome power...but man, i love how my borla's sound, i can just imagine them on your setup

now you make me feel old i used to realy like loud:p now i prefer it álitle more melow unless it will cost me power
its a shame it seems like the borla mufflers are so much louder, when i realy like the quality of borla compared to magnaflow, wich isnt realy bad but still diferent levels so to speak..
yeah i think they would sound bada$$ on my build wich i think will be just alitle wilder than yours but not all that much

ok i have decided i dont care about if the borla mufflers are louder and i dont care they are more expensive than magnaflows since im putting enough money into this stuff everywhere so a few 100$ more on mufflers are not a big thing even if im not made out of money

any advice on whats the diference betwen the XR1 raceline multicore mufflers and the sportsman series? its a pretty good diference in price
looking at the 16" long body mufflers,i think i will use an X-Pipe even if i dont realy like the sound of the X and exhaust will end in front of the wheels or out the back of the car have not decided on that yet

I have a set of 3x14 Magnaflows on my N/A 518 C,I. low deck stroker street Duster that has ran 10:34 at 128.6 MPH through the muffs on Oregon pump gas, the muffs are mounted behind the rear end at the rear bumper. The further back you mount the mufflers the quieter it will be and not affect back pressure due to having more pipes behind the muffs I do have a new set of the 14x3.5 stainless Magnaflow Ultra, they look just like the picture of the Sportmans Borla
