Anyone running Mickey Thompson 275/60-15 on a 10'' rim. Is it worth the effort or are you better off with 8 '' rims.

I've run that size on a 10" rim, no problems. Yes it's worth using the 10" over the 8"

The hoosier is a bigger tire (taller&wider)and also alot lighter then the mickey.I think the hoosier is a more consistant tire, more forgiving on bad tracks but I feel the mickey would 60 ft a little better on a well prepped track.Only a few hundreds I would guess. With mickeys on my car one pass it would hook next pass it would blow them off, it either hooks hard or doesn't at all.I personaly run the hoosier on my car.

The car goes 1.43 on motor and 1.36 on 150hp that is with the hooiser never ran mickeys on spray was afraid the way they would lose traction. All of this was with ss springs and a snubber.

Guys routinely go low 1.20s and high teens for 60ft, in 3000+ lb cars, on the 275 Hoosiers. The Hoosier is not a "true" radial and not sure how it got the DOT rating for a radial. It is way closer to a bias tire, than a radial. I know the Mickeys work, but you can hit the Hoosier harder initially.

I am glad you posted this Monte... I spoke with M/T about a drag radial or the et streets.. My car is a 4 spd and per the guy at M/T I do not want to use a drag radial with a brake or a clutch transmission The said for me to stick with the ET Streets as my clutch car would need the sidewall flex that the radial does nto have,,

If you don't plan to drive the car on the street, or class rules do not require you to run a Drag Radial, just stick with a slick, or ET street type tire. Now don't get me wrong, drag radials work well and guys fly on them......BUT....they are not a just throw them on and be fast situation. The car has to work and you have to know how to make the tire work. They can be extremely tricky.

the Hoosier is a lot lighter and yes a lot more consisten than the MT's
I have been the same ets on both, but the Hoosiers are a lot more forgiving. Honestly they are like a radial slick
