'68 RR, 383, MSD Ignition, TTI Headers, stock intake.
The car can sit for weeks and start like a champ with a few pumps of the gas peddle before starting. However, I can't seem to figure out how to start it cleanly after going somewhere and the car sitting for a bit. For example, I went to a car show last week and it sat for 1.5 hours. When I tried starting it to go home I had trouble. If it sits for just 20 minutes I don't have to pump it at all.
What is the general rule of thumb here?

I'm pretty sure the spark is fine and 2 years ago the timing was advanced to increase power a little (got 10 hp and tq from doing that). Thanks, guys. I'll try the WOT suggestion without looking stupid. Hilarious!
