the flexplate says it is for an externally balanced 360 1993-1999...You dont need the weights on the converter..

I believe B&M quit making the 10241,,,,,

B&M 10241 Flexplate.
Fits 1993-1999, Chrysler externally balanced 360 with A-904.
(10" bolt circle)
SFI approved flexplates from B & M are legal for use in all classes of NHRA and IHRA drag racing. They are also ideal for high performance street use or any application that may see higher than 6,000 rpm. They come with the SFI certification sticker and will not need recertification for three years

stock 5.9 harmonic balancer is what you need.

Ideally, the correct B&M flex plate will not require any converter weights (neutral balance). Don't know if B&M still makes the part you need.

I believe that B&M flexplate is on back stocked on that internet site, so I will probably get that and the stock 5.9 balancer and I should be set.

Flexplate is "discontinued", i called B&M on this, i asked why, they said its because most are useing 727s anymore, sales were way down, so its a gone-rrrr.

All he needs if he's going to use a stock factory shortblock is a flexplate from a later model 360 magnum that has the weights on it, then he can run a "N" balanced converter, then just run a factory HB.

the 727 flexplate comes with 3 different bolt patterns...

11 1/8 and 10 inch...plus different bolt hole sizes...i dont see why it would not work.

check the bolt pattern on your converter...see if it is either of those two.

I'm pretty sure the larger dia of the 727 flexplate will hit the starter in the drive area.
Even using the B&M 360/904 flexplate, I've had to trim the nose on some mini-starters to clear. I've also had to trim the block in the pan rail area to put a 904 behind a 360 Mag block.

B&M 10242 (5.9 magnum) Flexplate shown with 904, 727 and magnum flexplates. I see no reason why the 10242 would not work with the 904 even though it is listed for 727 applications.

NOTE- Not all magnum flexplates are the same! Early units had the 5.9 weight attached to the converter, later ones were attached to the flexplate.

The 904 usesa 122 tooth ring gear, the 727 uses a 130 tooth ring gear. The smaller diameter of the 904 ring gear prevents using a 727 flexplate.

Interesting, I'll have to do a test fit with the 42RH I have here.

This could be a problem for me as I was doing a motor swap next month.

Question- Does anyone make interal balanced flexplates for the 904 application with a six bolt crank? I'm amazed B&M does not have one listed!

I'd simply get it rebalanced for a magnum 5.9.

Took a picture of the B&M flexplate over a 42RH (904) converter.

My Mark One eyeball tells me there is about .030-.045 between the outside of the flexplate and the lowest valley of the ring gear.

Guess the only way to find out if it will work or not is to mock everything up.

When I did my stroker magnum build I used a B&M flexplate to my 904 trans. I will look today to see if I stil have my old flexplate and if its weighted.

will it work? all 360 mags came with a 727 based tranny (some vans got a 727 (37RH), most came with a 46RH/RE (A518)

When the factory changed to a weighted flexplate they also changed to a symmetric 90° converter bolt pattern, the 727 and 904 converters have one drive lug offset so the newer flexplate won't work on the 904 without elongating one hole.

With the weighted flexplate and a symmetric pattern, what stops you from mounting it in the wrong orientation??
