Lower control arms are the same for drum brake, or disc brake cars. No difference. Same thing for the uppers, wether it is drum, or disc brake.

THIS subject again? Mr Hemi71x thinks that NO 73-76 A body EVER came with the small upper ball joint from the factory. He may be right, but I have personally seen a few of them over the past 14 years of junkyard digging. Cars with the 9 inch front drums used the small upper ball joint, no matter what year model. My point I tried to make a few weeks ago was that while some stubborn, crusty egomaniacs will quote.." I have NEVER I repeat NEVER ever seen the 9 inch front drum on ANY 73 and later A body...." Dont believe it. Just because YOU have never seen it does not mean it never happened. Sure, the odds may be against it, but unless you worked the assembly plant, you are only an observer. Another option to consider is that since these cars have been on the road so long, they have likely had multiple owners. There are few virgins anymore. I once had a 76 Dart that had 9 inch drum brakes all around, as did a 74 Dart Sport. It is possible that at some time in the past that a previous owner went metal to metal and couldnt find a 10 inch drum for a replacement. THEN he found a complete 9 inch setup INCLUDING the corresponding upper control arms and swapped them all over. Wierder things have happened. These cars have alot of interchangeability in them.

I bought a late Valiant 4dr at an auction once for the disc brakes. When I went to pull it apart I found it had the 4-piston small pattern system. It was a '73 or '74, can't remember which. It looked all factory except for the discs, the rear axle was a big pattern 7.25" and it still had the factory tiny exhaust system on the 225 but had torsion bars over 1" in diameter! I still have the torsion bars, they appear to be machined out of 1-1/4" hex bar and are real nice pieces.
Just because you see it on a car doesn't mean it's factory.

I was switching an early A body (forgot if it was 63-66 group or 67-72) and the only diff between the disc and the drum lower ball joints was on the drum ones the mounting holes were 1/2" dia and were 9/16" on the disc ones. there was plenty of material around the bosses so I drilled them out (to 9/16") which took seconds on a drill press as the cast iron was as soft as butter. No problems & saved an unnecessary expenditure.

I guess I have not made myself clear....I know 73 up have large ball joints....but ...are the lower control arms the same from 72? as in a 73?... I just need to know if I need to get them too..they do not have the tabs for a sway bar...I thought I read somewhere that I did not need to get them...I searched and could not find any correlating messages...I am sorry if some here are tired of hearing these questions asked..but this is my favorite board and really the only place I ask questions and would not ask if I did not need help. and these are from a drum brake car...not disk...

No , you do not need the lower control arms , they are the same if they do not have swaybar tabs but are different if they do have swaybar tabs and you need to have the correct swaybar to go with the arms , you will have to get the correct lower ball joints to fit the spindles you want to use .
