Cable is pulled real tight and when the ideal is bottomed out on floorboard carb is open about 3/4? I have one of those jegs style lokar cable setup ... I've seen some of you guys bending that front area down on the throttle bracket... Will this gve me leverage fir WOT? Thx

you need to find a mounting point on the carb lever closer to the fulcrum (center pivot point) to get more ratio of pedal lever to throttle lever..

Check this thread out for some info for the throttle cable angle.

bend your gas pedal or change ratio at pedal

I tried a lokar cable on my car once, and could never get it to work correctly, i think it was stretching.

Ray this is my next step....... cable wouldnt get WOT at any position.... I cant put the throttle cable on the bottom front hole (towards rad) cause the pump arm hits it.... red arrows shows where i had everything first!

it does look like the cable needs to be lower in the bracket to pull the throttle 90* from idle position. [even with the carb shaft pivot]

you have the cable pin in the wrong hole. It needs to be in the hole closest to the fulcrum.

Looking at your picture I just noticed your red arrows. I'm now thinking that your throttle cable bracket is the problem. I think you're going to have to change to a different style brack

me thinks the opposite raise the bracket and use the higest hole. it gives the most leverage

doesn't seem like leverage is the issue. if he wants to move it more for a given amount of pedal (cable) travel, he needs it in the hole closest to the pivot. Kinda like when you put a smaller pulley on a blower. It moves the rotors more (spins faster) than a large one.

If It were me, I'd call Patrick and discuss it with him. If that carb has the same ratio as all dominators (which it probably does) it needs to be in that bottom hole.

i used this bracket with no problems with my bigs dominator in the upper hole....... something is definately different

also being on the front center hole did open it up more. but evn if the pedal didnt bottom out I think it would be out of travel anyways cause it ends up parralel with the cable.... dang bracket was $85

Can you cut the stud shorter to clear... its either you
add more length (travel)to the gas pedal or you need
to get it in that lower hole on the carb... also lower
the cable mount (its to high)... might even need
to bend that cable mount down for a better angle

Throw the cable out and fit your car with a solid rod.

I can bolt it to the front lower hole. the problem is when you open the throttle the pump arm come up and interfers with the bolt righ away......
