Hi
Wondering if a 1" carb spacer does any deferens in performance with a prochargerd engine?.
I converted my carbureted engine to prochargerd and left the spacer on,
The problem is that the engine won’t fit under the hood with the spacer on.
If I lose performance by removing it I rather modify the hood .

Thanks,
Toni

So I guess it work the same way like with a "normal" carbureted engine.
I think I leave it on.

I used a 1/2" on mine. it was under the carb so I left it on. but I had a cut hood and a hood scoop. Are you saying it won't fit under that 6-pack scoop? Try a 5" Hemi scoop.

Yep, it won’t fit, it's like 1/2" to tall for the hood to properly close,
So now I have rubber hose on the rear hood pins to prevent the scoop to rub the carb hat .

On a boosted app don't think it will make any diff. the spacer helps with the vacume signal for the carb in a NA situation. now you forcing air down the throat of the carb, vacume signal is non exsistant. IMO.

It would be interesting to test it on a Dyno, with and without spacer.
My Dyno was with a tight schedule, so no time for testing that .

I went the exact opposite direction and milled at least an inch of the top of my b1 intake to make my stuff clear. I have no historical data, but it still made 1300hp

This is true. A bigger carb hat is where the power is at. When people are looking for all those little ponies and trying to squeeze everything they have out of their boosted engine they go to a big carb hat and not a big spacer. I asked the Supercharger Store about carb spacers and hats, they told me to forget about the spacer and get an upgraded carb hat from the stock Procharger hat their kits come with.
So, your spacer couldn't be helping you that much to make you want to cut up a hood and buy scoops. If you are looking for any power that is there and are resigned to the idea of cutting your hood then ditch the spacer anyway and go with one of these

Yep I got the big carb hat from Superior airflow .
So I wonder is the spacer making any hp, or wit out it I will gain some torque .
Anyone try the difference on a dyno?

Hey! I got a PC carb too. They're great. I am so pleased with it (the Supercharger Store sent it with the D1-SC kit) I called them and told them what great product they have.

I got my procharger kit (F1 kit) from Supercharger store, very happy with it, PC carburetor, works fine .
