Hey, wasnt that 79 in Mopar Muscle a few years back? I really dug it because my first truck was a '79 that color. Being young and dumb I blew the motor and parted it out. Wash I hadnt of done that!

I still have the pass fender though!

The inside

Red79, that's a beautiful interior! What is that seat out of, looks like a later model seat.

It's an aftermarket seat from a company called FlexSteel. They are still in business but I don't think they make the vehicle products any more (seat is probably 18 years old). I had the seat re-upholstered, it was originally a gray velour material and is now tweed. Couple years later I made the upper and lower door panel accents from the same tweed.

Yes, it was featured in Mopar Muscle about 13 or 14 years ago. Not too much has changed on the outside. I made some major changes to the interior and completely re-wired the truck to eliminate the factory spaghetti wiring under the hood.

Does anyone tow with a lowered 2wd truck? Was wondering if/how lowering a D series truck would affect towing, good, bad or indifferent.

My 78 seemed better at towing & felt more solid or sure footed
Same with my CrewCab kinda only it feels as though it's really on rails in curves with the trailer behind it

I thought that might be the case with a lower center of gravity.

It's probably a stretch but perhaps these bricks' aerodynamics are improved with lowering.

I attribute part of my huge increase in MPG when I did the Magnum/518 OD swap to my CrewCab to the lowering
I did to it while I had it apart which was almost 3" (2 coils cut) & just over 4 1/2" (spring hangers moved up on the frame)

The wind doesn't affect it as much as before for sure, even after adding 40 MPH to its top speed
