Building a hemi for a blower and was wondering which rod/stroke combination would be best of these 2. I currently have the 4.5 bore pistons so that measurement is fixed. Would it be better to go with a 4.15 stroke and a 6.86 rod or a 4.25 stroke with a 6.76 rod?? New to hemi so exploring options!!!

4.25 stroke and a 7.100 long rod Especially a blower motor the last blown 426 hemi motor I built I used a 4.375 stroke with a 7.100 long rod and a 4.255 bore Motor made 924 HP at 7300 RPM with 7 lbs boost on CA pump gas

Ditto, but if he already has the pistons, it might not fit....Love the bob weights on the 7.1 rods with chevy journals....So nice and light.

I would sell the larger bore pistons and look for pistons in the 4.310 - 4.375 range with either 7.076 or 7.125 length rods turning on a 3/4 stroker crankshaft.

Go with the rod that will give you the deck height you need. You have a difference of .050 between the two combinations, which will change the compression.
The 4.15 stroke 7.86 combo will be .050 higher than the 4.25 stroke 6.76 combo.
