Has anyone cut the choke horn off the center six pack carb. I have already removed the choke and want to cut the horn off and polish the throats a little. I have done this on a DP and it worked good.

Depending what the original application was I would hesitate to ruin a carb someone could use.You could probably find someone that would swap you something that is not as desireable in return.

I had mine milled off to get the 50 CFM or so it adds to the airflow when measured at 1.5"hg. Probably rated as a tad more CFM when measured at the 2 barrel rating of 3"hg. I believe that is the vacumm they use to rate for 2 versus 4 barrel dry air flow.

The carbs are new ones from Summit, so no fear of messing up originals which I wouldn't do if I could get some. I just want to get more performance out of the carbs...I don't use the choke any way, so why not get rid of it.
