I love it when guys don't lift. The best part is you don't even have to give 'em any of your winnings.

"That you can make sure that your engine, trans, diff, tires, belts, air pressure, battery, fuel ect, ect, ect have been checked and rechecked and still some little $5 part that never fails, can fail at the most inopertune time and cost you the race." My first race ever, TT's go ok, 1st rd in stageing lanes, start the car, pull up and shut off 6 or 7 times, no problem. Get to the head of the lane, wait for starters signal, start car, go to put in gear and the reverse lock out button on the slap stick goes in and sticks in. in park... Got timed out, then got yelled at to move my car so the rest of the cars can race In about two minutes I went from to And 20 years later it's still happening. At Mopar meet at Bristol last year, I make 6 time trials, no problem. 1st round, under the tower, engine already running, 15 seconds from pulling into burn out, my opponants crew runs over and said " you got a flat". Yeah, right. By the time I got out and looked, the rim was almost on the ground. I pick up a nail in the LR slick that went between the tube and inside of sidewall and ripped a big gash in the tube. Could not even get it fixed in time to buy back. Brian

Dont stage with the back tires......
The first time I was ever at a drag strip one of my friends did that.
The laughter and ridicule he had to endure is still burnt into my memory.

If you race multiple cases of racing as in pro and super pro........... remember not to leave on the top bulb when in pro........ DOH
Funny, I was drafted into a class by a great group, they told me where we pitted, where the drinks were, where the hot dogs were, told me everything I could ever have needed to know, except that they run a pro tree, I stage look down to check guages, look up hey how long has that green light been on and where's the duster going. Not very often that you can shave 1.5 seconds off your reaction time. They still laugh about it.

Be safe, know the layout of the track. dont drive 50 in the pits, lots of people walking around there. If you run a dragster, dont coast threw the pits, people cant hear you coming. And remember kids dont know better...Have fun...Phill

Don't stage with the back tires?
I had this happen once years ago. Hit the brake button, didn't hold. Stopped the car with brakes exactly fulled staged w/slicks. Confused starter guy (and us). He run the tree anyway I launched, but let off knowing it was foul.
