Oh
I have a 70 bee 383 4 bbl, auto, etc and I need to know if any of these intakes would be correct enough to use for my car??
My original engine is dated 8-26-69,
the stamped pad by the dist has - F 383, 3 11, hp
on it.

One question is would a 69 intake be correct #2806301 since the casting date on the block is 8-26-69?? or do I need a 70 intake # 2951666 ???

Question #2 my #2951666-1 what does the -1 mean???

and the last question, I have 2 intakes with #2951666 on them and one has a date code of 5.3.9 I assume this one is May 3rd 1969 and the other is 5.02 what are these dates as I can't find the info in my galen white book.

Any Help on these questions would Help me out Greatly. If neither intake is close for my car let me know Please.
Thanks David

Can anyone else HELP answer any of my questions???
I have a friend that needs 1 of the intakes for his 71 satellite but I would like to keep the one that fits my car close to the Correct date.

Anyone know what the -1 behind the 666 number mean???

Please Help me figure this out.
Thanks David

the -1 is probably the core #. Since they are sand cast molds, there are more than 1 mold, or, there are more than 1 cavity per mold.

I also think the 666 casting would be correct. 301'sre 68/69.

A friend has a 5k mile original Bee, I can look at his intake today. He's just few blocks away. Don't know the build date, but I know its a St. Louis plant car.

Oh
If you get the time to look at your friends bee that would be Great.
My VIN starts in the 0A211--- and with a number in that range My motor must have been sitting awhile. 8-26-69 cast date with a 3-11 assembly date??
I Appreciate the link and Assistance.
David

My best guess

Yes you need a 1970 style intake - 69 and 70 take different style chokes

2951666 is correct style 1970 intake

I belive the 1 means core # or core revision

Intakes usually have a 5 digit date code on them , as an example 05039 = May 3rd 1969
so I'm going to leave that one open but my guess is neither is right for your car

Oh
70 Buzz, What number are you talking about that has a -2??
The 2951666 number has a -2 behind it??
The date codes are on the bottom of the intake so I guess no one will see them except me.
Thanks Bill for the info.
I will use my 2951666-1 intake then. Thanks Guys
David
