the 750 eddy has alot of complaints. I have an 800 Thunder series AVS. very sweet carb. easy to tweak and tune. Only trouble i've had is it comes off fast idle to soon. Gonna play with it this weekend.

If you got some good breathing heads on it ( 270 or better cfm on the intake side ), the 750 might be a little small. I'd go with an 800 or 850.

either CFM would work for you. If you get a good deal on either size of any model of any brand I wouldn't hesitate. As said alot of complaints on the 750 eddy.

I know someone who has an old 750 carter afb on a 408 and it runs nice. I have ridden around in it and it doesn't cough, hesitate, or do anything irritating. It also runs hard enough to pop the glovebox door open and curl the floormats backwards when you stand on it.

I think either would work, but if your engine is fairly built then the bigger 800 version is the way to go.

I would go with an 800. A 750 eddy would not be at the top of my list.

800 CFM

The 750 still leaves a bit of vacuum at wide open throttle as compared to the 800. Your stroker will appreciate the bigger carb at wide open throttle, provided that your heads flow 250 cfm or better.

Run quickly away from Eddys...if you are serious about getting the best performance get a Holley.

There are guys here who swear by holley, by Damon, by Barry Grant , by Eddy, by Carter and they all say to get the best performence use there brand. They all run good when properly tuned. We can have the same agument about tires, gas, oil the color of the sky. Either CFM will work well if tuned correctly. Buy what ever brand your more familiar with to make tuning it easier for you.

I myself like Holley DP's as I have very good results with them and I find them easy to tune. I have a 750 DP on my sons 400 Dart. He has tried an 800 and 850 and went no faster so he ended up going back to the 750 which has run 11.40's in his mild 400 Dart. If you like the Eddy carbs I would agree the 800 Thunder series seem to be better from what I hear. Both the Holley and Eddy carbs can work good as it just boils down to which you care for and have good results with. Ron

too bad I punted the Carter Comp series 625 on my mild 340 swinger for a 750DP and went from 14.teens to 13.80. A holley is a much better carb and for what you have I think you'd be much hapier w/ a holley. Any car is going to need tuning. Holley have much more to play with so I guess that's why some people don't like them.

What year? 4 speed or auto? some 440 B's had 3 holleys
What came on the car was not always the best performing carb for the application, only what was cheap at the time.

If you want power go with Holley, If you want drive it all the time streetability, go with an Edelbrock.

I have the Eddy 750 and it's a dog

The 800 Eddy did run good on my buddies 408 small block but it seemed small..then he tunnel rammed it. It runs like a bat outta he// now

Just a thought, but which carb is taller and will it have room under your hood. I have a holley DP on my 66 and I seem to remember I couldn't fit the Eddy on my intake because it was to close to the hood with the air cleaner on.
