If you got some good breathing heads on it ( 270 or better cfm on the intake side ), the 750 might be a little small. I'd go with an 800 or 850.

either CFM would work for you. If you get a good deal on either size of any model of any brand I wouldn't hesitate. As said alot of complaints on the 750 eddy.

I know someone who has an old 750 carter afb on a 408 and it runs nice. I have ridden around in it and it doesn't cough, hesitate, or do anything irritating. It also runs hard enough to pop the glovebox door open and curl the floormats backwards when you stand on it.
I think either would work, but if your engine is fairly built then the bigger 800 version is the way to go.

HOLLEYS GIVE ME PIMPLES...
too bad I punted the Carter Comp series 625 on my mild 340 swinger for a 750DP and went from 14.teens to 13.80. A holley is a much better carb and for what you have I think you'd be much hapier w/ a holley. Any car is going to need tuning. Holley have much more to play with so I guess that's why some people don't like them.

What year? 4 speed or auto? some 440 B's had 3 holleys What came on the car was not always the best performing carb for the application, only what was cheap at the time.

There are guys here who swear by holley, by Damon, by Barry Grant , by Eddy, by Carter and they all say to get the best performence use there brand. They all run good when properly tuned. We can have the same agument about tires, gas, oil the color of the sky. Either CFM will work well if tuned correctly. Buy what ever brand your more familiar with to make tuning it easier for you.
I'm running an 800 AVS on my 408 it runs great...
