....wheel/tire combo ya running? What sizes and wheel offset did you go with? Gonna be mini tubbin and setting up (narrowing a Dana) a rearend in a 72 Demon for a guy and he wants the most rubber he can fit, keeping it under the car, and would like NOT to have to trim the wheel opening as this is a rust free car, but has agreed to do what is needed. Whatcha guys using? Some side view pix would be great if ya got'm. Thanks.
Ken.

My brother's Swinger has 315/60-r15 drag radials on 15x11 Centerlines with 7" back space. Before we put it on the street it had 31/10.5W MT drag slicks. Maybe he'll see this and post some photos. -Bob

Did you alter your wheel openings at all? seems like you would've had to. The way yours looks (color/stripe) is exactly what he described to me as to how he wants to paint it. Feel free to email me some more pix or just post'm here. Thanks.

If yoy don't want to alter the opening or raise the rear end you'll be running 28". I know there are guys running taller but either the front of the opening is moved forward, the axle is moved back or the rear is pretty high. We just went through this with Dizusters Duster. He wants it to sit low. I believe we came up with 10.5X28W or 11.0X28 slicks, 13.50X28 ET Streets.

If your going to cut and narrow it anyway, just buy the wheel tire combo and make it fit.

15x12 with 6" B/S.Leaf springs moved into the frame rail.We are using a 12.2x31.25 tire, obviously we had to trim the wheel openings. As posted,28's are the biggest without a bit of trimming.

Sometime in the future,I will repaint and put the fender openings back to a original apperance, but will be using a 29.5 tire.

My old junk had a stock width axle, springs moved into frame rails, mini tubbed, 15x10 with 6" BS, 29.5x10.5W(pictured). When I bought it, it had 12x30 slicks. The front lower edge of the wheel well was trimmed, but not much. I agree with everyone else, 28" max if you don't cut it.

Factory width dana, mini-tub, 15x10 5 1/2 backspace(i think) 325/50-15 street radials. That is 28 tall. I really want more tire height. I think I might trim the 1/4's after this next pair of tires is gone because in a year or 2 the car is getting a complete makeover and then I will strecth the 1/4's.

I'm running a 72 duster, stock width 8 3/4, relocated springs, and tubbed. I have 28x11.5 et drags and 28x12.5 sportsman pros on 15x10 weld wheel with 6.5" back space. The car sits low and no rubbing or trimming the outer lip. There's a couple inches between the leaf spring and the tire if done right could be more room for wider tire. Problem is 28 is tallest I can go and they don't make anything wider that's that height.

I put 28-10.5 W M/T slicks on my Demon ,I moved the leaf springs in to the frame rails and knocked the stock wheel tub in with a hammer. I painted the inside of the trunk and you can not tell it has been modified. I have 15x10 Holeshot wheels with 6in back spacing. I also did the same thing to my 69 Valiant and put the same tires and wheels on it. They both had stock width A-body 8 3/4 rears with superstock springs.

I use a stock length A body housing and run 15x12 drag stars w/7 1/2" backspacing but I cut the whole wheel well to clear a 30" tire w/room to spare. It`s also mini-tubbed and the springs are moved into the frame rails.

Virgin sheet metal is a lot easier to work on than rusted stuff is I would (and did) stretch the wheel wells now before you finish the car and paint it. My car has the wheel wells stretched five inches, three inches forward of the original axle centerline and two inches to the rear, I also moved the rear end forward one inch at the same time My car in this picture has 315x60x15 MT ET Street Radails on ten inch rims with 5 3/8 backspacing (it was suppose to be 5.5 backspacing )I also have a set of 10.5x31x15W tires on ten inch rims with the 5.5 backspacing and they fit as well as the M/T radials do and the slicks fill the rear wheelwells up a little better I use ladder bars and coil overs and full size wheel tubs into the stock sub frames EDIT: Oops, forgot to attach the picture Last thing, several years ago I was at Mopar race at Woodburn drag strip here in Oregon, a younger racer came up and stoop down to look at my tires and car, he stood up and said "you can't fit those tires on these cars, I have a 1971 Duster and there is now way I can fit that size tire on my car I let him look at it for a while and finally told him my 1/4 panels are not stock, he gave me a weird look and stoop down again and took another, closer look I fool him and a lot of other Mopar racers and street people Do it now,(sheet metal work) not later
