I was there for the first 4 wide last year.Boy it was a sight, and the sound was like nothing I've ever heard. It was cool, but to go see a hole race like that is going to suck. There is a wall between the two tracks.

just when you think the NHRA couldn't stoop any lower, along comes this nonsense. It has truly joined the realm of idiocy in motion. Do we expect bearded ladies and clowns on unicycles roaming nthe grounds selling programs. The NHRA began its long miserable descent into oblivion years ago when they hired Dallas Gardner.

I think Bruton Smith had a lot more to do with this then NHRA did, Bruton usually gets his way in the end....c'mon it's one race, what other tracks have four lanes

Just remember,,,the 'clowns' are what make the 'circus' interesting...

If you like drag racing, support your local track.

That's exactly what I was thinking too. I'm sure NHRA didn't order Bruton to build a 4 lane track. IIRC, the city/county didn't want the track at all and Bruton bullied them until he got his way.

Besides, so many people whine that they want drag racing to be like it was in the old days, here's your chance to go see it how it used to be. Lots of tracks used to run 4 wide. US 30 called them 'Jungle Races'.

What classes are going to run 4 at a time?

Probally all of the 16 car fields, fuel, pro stock, alcohol, and so on

The article states that Lucas Oil classes will remain paired 2 at a time. Can you imagine being in a dial or index category and trying to "finish line" race THREE other cars? Too funny...

if that were ever to happen, I would be sitting at top end, youre right, too funny.
