Can anyone tell me the best street strip intake for a 440 30 over, 11-1 comp, 590cam, 430 rear, that should go low 11"s in heavy mopar. I know a six-pack will work but I have to go with single 4 and also what size holley carb? Thanks for the help

There are a few good ones and from what I have seen the M1 , Eddy RPM or the Holley Street Dominator all seem to work about the same. I run the Street Dominator on the .030 over 440 in my 63 street /strip car. I run 10.0 comp and 906 heads with the MP .557 cam and the SD with an 850 DP. At just over 3700 lbs it has run a best of 11.49 @ 116 and thats driving to the track and racing the same as I drive it thru the pipes. I like the SD alot as my car 60 ft's ok for what it is with stock suspension and just SS springs as my best 60 ft is a 1.57 which I guess is on par for a mid 11 car. The Eddy RPM also works very good on my sons 400 Dart that runs Eddy RPM heads and the MP .557 cam and he has run 11.40's also. I have not ran the M1 myself but my brother has and many people I know and they have all ran good #'s with it for the combo's. Ron

Mill a Rpm manifold 1/4" for hood clearance sake. Thats your "beast" for a heavier car.

I run an rpm, and like it. for that matter, I only needed a drop base air cleaner to make it work when I ran the flat hood.

The original poster has more cam and gear though, so I think a single plane MAY be a better pick. Copuld go either way

As for a holley, 950hp holley would be about right.

I'd run a victor myself. Leaves room for growth.

Probably any performance single plane intake ever made for a 440 will work.

Though I'd stay away from the original torker lol, or the weiand xcelerator. That sharp turn where the manifold hits the head isn't a great idea for the fuel keeping itself suspended.

I have a #7512 X-Celerator on mine

At this point it's starting to hold me back and needs some more massaging or a new Victor

Not exactly your combo, but for comparison:

I agree...If you ever plan on stepping up in the HP department down the road, get one that will support good power later, so your not buying another intake...The Edelbrock Victor would be my choices..
This intake is capable of making 750-800hp...The RPM would be my last choice cause of design, even though it my perform just as good now.

I have that article somewhere. Pretty impressive performance with the Street Dominator. IIRC, Dulcich said that particular intake had some very minor blending done in the plenum. The Team G had a core shift problem, which i have heard is not uncommon with that intake.

Interesting to see the Torker II out perform the Performer RPM in that test.I always thought that intake was the "also ran" intake when compared to the SD or the RPM
Those intakes can be had pretty cheap

I didn't do a scientific test and don't have same day numbers to compare or anything...but when I switched from the Torquer II to the Holley SD...I didn't seem to pick up anything in the 1/4 on my 446 with Eddy heads running 11.60's-11.70's at 3700 lbs. And the Torquer II had more hood clearance if I remember correctly.

I did a intake manifold test on a DTS engine dyno on a pump gas 484 C.I. wedge stroker motor, I tested the torker 11, Eddy Performer RPM and Mopar single plane intake with the same carb and jetting on all three tests. The Torker 11 was the worst on torque and HP from 2500(where we begin) to 6500 where we stop the tests. The motor make peak HP at or close to 5800 to 5900 RPMs and peak torque from 4100 to 4300 RPMs. We where printing and storing data every one hundred RPM I have a freind who tested a TM7 intake on his 440 bracket car with a 750 Holley DP versus a Torker and Torker 11 intake with no other changes, the TM7 was the fastest and quickest

The sreet dominator with a 1" or 2" spacer(I ran mine with a 1" tapered 4 hole on top of a 1" open) would work well.
With a heavier car maybe a dual plane like the Indy 440-2d would work as well.Streetwize has gotten great results with one.
