These went together in about an hour including taking out the old bars and driveshaft loop.
These are all integrated with a new drive shaft loop.
Thanks guys!!!

That looks nice, but isn't the loop supposed to be farther back from the U-joint?

No, must be within 6" of the u joint.

In place of a
crossmember, in the vicinity of the front universal joint, all cars in
competition using open driveshafts must have a retainer loop 360
degrees of enclosure, 1/4-inch minimum thickness and 2 inches
wide, or 7/8-inch x .065-inch welded steel tubing, securely mounted
and located within 6 inches of the front universal joint for support of
the driveshaft in event of U-joint failure. Open drivelines passing
any part of the driver’s body must be completely enclosed in 1/8-
inch minimum thickness steel plate, securely mounted to the frame
or frame structure. Driveshaft loop required on all cars running
13.99 (*8.59) or quicker and utilizing slicks; except vehicles running
11.49 (*7.35) seconds or slower equipped with street tires.

If you look you will see that the front yoke is pulled
back(the rear end is hanging down on the shocks).
Looks good

It might meet the rules, but I think a better location would be slightly to the rear, if with a u joint failure the driveshaft whips around, flexes a bit, it will figure a way to slip out and then it will be like having no loop at all.Should be an easy adjustment for future installations, or is it adjustable, can't quite make out that detail. What do the 2 6" bolted plates in the rear attach to? The frame connectors and/or a bolted in roll bar?

Nice car, nice & easy? installation, but seems to have a few compromises in the design IMO.

For many years I have asked can anybody explain with data what exact forces the subframe connectors resist? Bending, torsion, compression, tension, and in what directions/combinations, because that knowledge will much clearer define the actual design of the actual subframe connector, and still no answer.

This 100% bolted in, the driveshaft loop is adjustable and will slide back just by loosening the clamps on the rails.

I maybe wrong but bolted in I don't see it doing much(better than nothing I guess) except for looks. if it's not welded into the floor pan I bet it will still flex. but it does look good

Does this mean you went a 10.96 without subrame connectors before? Do you have a rollbar?

Were you starting to have problems with body flex/doors not closing, that kind of thing?

i think 1 way to see if thay help would be to jack up the car with them on then without and measure the flex before the tire lifts off the ground.mine with a 10pt cage will lift 6" before both fronts lift off jacking from 1 side.the sq tube kit sold that bolts in does the same thing as the round kit pictured.

Yes, I agree, but I also mentioned "compression", and that it might also be a factor in that the front leaf spring attachment point is basically pushing the entire chassis forward with all the multiplied force the motor can develop, and that force then flows thru the floor pan (which is nearly useless) and also makes effectively, 2 90Deg turns as it flows thru the rocker panels, which is I suspect what boxing them achieves/improves, but not likely very effectively, so what the aftermarket subframes may accomplish best is direct compressive transfer of the actual acceleration of the car, and then the shape/ diameter is not quite as important, but of course only in regards to this force (ie not bending). IMO there is lot going on here, and no solution is ideal until those forces are understood and weighed, and the application taken into account. It seems for years there have only antedotal solutions and monkey see, monkey do, and no one asks why?

And isn't the twist from "planting" the left rear, not the right?

Does anyone have any empirical evidence, like before and after subframe connector time slips or pictures pf body damage that resulted from lack of connectors to post?

Just curious about how much they are worth to lowering ET. A tenth? Two tenths? More?

I do believe this is where you can go to get them...

www.unlawfulracing.com

I believe he also installs them? Whichever the case if Jack Irons builds something its fast and it works.Didn't he have the first 10 second FAST car or something like that?
