340duster340 OP master 3 Joined: Jan 2003 Posts: 4,323 NY NY	i have reason to believe that the trunk lock is not connected properly to the latch as the key turns, but the lid still does not open. and tips on how to get this open? i cant crawl through the back seat because the car is tubbed / caged and pretty much no room to fit. thanks in advance

Mr T2U master M Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 4,920 new berlin wisconsin	i have had good luck getting stuck trunk lids open by using the proper socket on A LOT of extensions, 3 or 4 feet worth, and unbolting the latch from the trunk lid from the back seat. perception is 90% of reality

You need to stick the screw driver into the elongated slot and give it a turn. The trunk will pop open. I used a long stick. You just need a small enough screw driver to fit in the slot.

Usually you can SMACK the decklid with the key turned & it'll POP! i think it was a combination of lack of grease AND the torsion rods in the back were removed so the lid is extra heavy. it just didn't want to budge in retrospect if i had 2 other people there to help me i probably could have turned the key and had 1 guy pull up on either side. 1966 Dart GT ...down to only 1 mopar for the first time in 15 years!
