I too suggest RV, it has more uses than just the track.

I sold my deisel and bought a nice RV. made the wife much more happy and comfortable at the track.

Just be sure to spend the few extra dollars on an RV to support the rear frame, they generally stop at the axle and many are towing with not much more than the body

Mine is a 30 foot Pace

I have a shower, restroom in mine ..

It has several other options, you can order them with many, many choices

I looked at all the brands, the mid range ones like the Pace are all very close in quality

[image][/image]

very nice and pretty close to what I was thinking. Do you have any shots from the inside? After having it for a while, would you have done anything different?
Thanks

I have a few more , puter crashed couple weeks ago so most are gone but I can take more if needed

No, I thought about mine for some time so I think I go it right ..About the only boo-boo is I should of added some extra cabinets in a couple places overhead ,I can buy some from Moduline and install them when I feel like it I guess

Good ideas I think on a trailer

Extended hitch --didn't cost much, pulls alot nicer and can turn sharper

Elec hitch jack, thats a must IMO

I like my extra 6 inches of headroom

Really like my own bathroom

Rubber coin floor I think was right choice

I looked at all the mid-price range trailers, over and over both new and used ..

I thought the Pace in that price range was best and for me, the factory was only 110 miles away so no FREIGHT !!

I Have two 6500 lb axles, brakes on both , it is lics as a RV so no hassle from DOT either

Any racers here a dealer? I know Kenny Anderson on DRR is a dealer and always offers great rates.

I really like the storm trailers. Very sharp. Very unique and not alot around. I cant say on longevity but they are very sharp.

A cool deal with pace a few years ago was their race support at some of the bigger races, but I heard that somewhat disappeared.

Have you called the builders direct? I hear there are all kinds of them sitting at the factories and they have no qualms of under cutting their salesman out there.

All depends what your looking for, something inexpensive too haul the car and looks arent a factor - haulmark and other entry level trailers. Then there are the gold rushes that cost more at 15 years old used than many do new.

I bought a premier 28ft a few years ago, was one of the first. I loved mine and had no issues, but man they were hit and miss, some were absolutly horrible. I sold mine for more than I paid for it.

I am a dealer and carry the Storm, Cargo Mate and Cargo King brand trailers.

Depending upon what you are looking for, there are some members on here with nice trailers for sale like Al Alguire, SmokinWoody, etc.

OhioGTX bought a Storm Cyclone last year from me and the one listed in the for sale section on Moparts just went to Texas.

Give me a shout if I can be of assistance to you.

i love the STORM CYCLONE. top notch.

PM OhioGTX here.....he sells the Storm and I agree with Chris as to the quality....miles ahead of Vintage/Pace/Haulmark....

Thanks what is it that you liked about the quality, What did you feel was better?

Ok....the fit and finish of the Storm is one of the better that I have seen. Now I'm not knocking the other brands...I happen to have a Haulmark...I got a great deal and I'm not that fussy...I have friends with Pace and my opinion is that for the money I think they build a great trailer. I have a bunch of friends with Vintage...some like them...some not so much. Yes Goldrush is an amazing trailer...but they are pricey and on my budget I can't even look at them. My plan is to sell my motorhome at some point and get a 30-32ft Tag with living quarters...Storm will be where I look unless I can score a nice used unit. Good luck and I would look at as many as I could and find what works for me if I were you.......Take my advice though and talk to OhioGTX...Mike is a great guy and won't steer you wrong

Hello,

I have owned 4 enclosd trailers and the same old thing applies, "you get what you pay for"
The are many choices and options and many different price levels which is great because it allows more people to own thier dream!

The reason for my post though is to advise you against the living quarters idea in your race trailer. It's a real bad idea because the living area is never big enough for a small family, the car area will never be big enough and the trailer will be a pig. They are real heavy and have very low resale value. I'm telling you to skip the LQ idea in your trailer and go straight to a motorhome if you want to be comfortable with your family at the track.

I have to agree that the Goldrush trailers are the ultimate, but are not for everyone.

I was going to go the MH tag route...til I figured in the cost of the motorhome...and tag...then license fees for both...and then came the insurance. The motorhome tags alone out here in Calif were going to be 1800.00 a year. Insurance 185 a month plus the up keep of the MH.It just didn't work for me.So I got a 40ft trailer with small LQ.That trailer sleeps all 4 of us and costs me 35 bucks for 5 years to register. I tow it with my F350 dually which is also my daily driver. And when we race in Vegas its nice to dump the trailer at the track and head downtown...with a MH...your stuck at the track.Twice now I've used my truck to go to town for parts or repairs. The motorhome would sit WAY too much for my taste...the trailer can sit for 3 months no biggie....if a motorhome sat that long it really wasn't cost effective. But everyones case is different.

1800 a year?

Nobody is saying you have to have a 250K RV.

Mine was 28K, I traded my diesel for it and bought a beater daily driver.

I would have preferred a 5th wheel, but truck I had was 3/4 ton and for what I wanted it woldnt have worked.

That was for an 72,000 motorhome...welcome to California!!!!...it costs me 895.00 a year for my 2000 F350 diesel dually...my wifes 2000 Excursion is 650.00 a year.

I dropped to my knees and thanked GOD when they dropped annual registration of trailers...my trailer used to be 135 a year because of weight but now its 35 bucks for 5 years!!!.....California is insane when it comes to the DMV...pretty soon we have to start emissions testing our diesels...YAY!...California sucks...but it sure is nice to eat breakfast in Yosemite and dinner that night in San Francisco.Or wake up on Sunday and drive to Lake Tahoe for lunch.

Thank you for the comments. This is my first "enclosed" trailer. I stayed in the Stigs Camper in Ohio. Having a bed and heat was so nice.

I just bought a Dodge Diesel (single Wheel) pickup to haul with. It is usually me and the guys. LQ seemed like a nice idea, but not necessary yet there seems to be be some good deals out there

Word from the wise...Save your money for a while longer and buy a welded aluminum trailer next. Resale value make's it worth it. IMO There is a big difference, plus it might keep you from getting your "ballz busted" ever again.
