Hey Rodders-

I'm looking into buying this 50 Dodge Business Coupe:
http://portland.craigslist.org/mlt/cto/1457217373.html

I want to build a gasser style street car with the 383 6bbl and 727 out of my '65 Fury.

In looking around I've dicovered that the original "High and Mighty" gasser was a modified stock front end.

My question is if anyone has any idea how high up I can go with a larger front coil spring, maybe a set of big block moroso trick springs of the proper diameter?

I've read that the Chrysler engineers that built high and mighty used spacers, anyone seen these?I don't need to go as high as those guys did,so it may not be necessary...

Also, any general opinions on this car/build are welcome.

Thanks,Sean

After seeing the build in street rodder mag, I wished I did mine as a gasser.

Yeah my Dad brought me over those Street Rodder mags. They did a pretty good job with theirs so far.

I like how they radiused their wheelwells, that's something I think I'd definitely do.

I was thinking a set of 3200# super stock leaf springs might be a cheap way to get the rear end up to speed . Prolly go with an 8.75 rear.

The thing about the front end is if you HAVE to chop it off and go with a solid and leafs, fine. If that's just something guys do because that's what everybody does,I'm gonna need a better reason than that..
