I am installing an addco rear sway bar in my 73 Charger and it doesn't fit right with the provided hardware. I have the wheels off and jack stands under the axle at normal ride height. My problem is that the middle links do not meet up to the frame, they are too far away and if I raise it to get close enough the end links hit the axle. Has anybody else installed one of these. This will be the last Addco product I ever buy I had a similar problem with their front sway bar. Pictures This is with the shorter bolts they supply, I can't even get it close to the frame This is with the longer bolts and spacer, I cant even get all the bushings in because the bar hits the frame and rearend.

Allmost all the aftermarket rear sway bars, not just Addco are pretty much the same, the mounting systems supplied suck!,....I've done a few, best advice is to mock up the rear bar on the frame rails, make new plates to relocate the threaded rod ends, or remove the axle shock plates and weld permanate plate extentions (beefed up), custom length bushing end rods/struts are avaliable at most AZ, or CarQuest, Advance, Napa stores, they can be purchased individualy
The Hellwig bar that bolts on to the rear axle, and has the rod ends mounted on the frame is a much better choice, incase you decide to change out the Addco bar

stupid question, I am also considering adding Addco to my Fury. Do I have to weld on the axle? Where do they mount to? Greets Flo

Firmfeel bars are much better fitting.
FF fit like stock bars do. I have FF on my 71 and Addco on my 74. I installed the Addcos like 15 years ago, I'd have to look and see how I did it, I know I had to modifiey something.
