ive changed tons of engines trans bells clutches mix matched and hodge podged and never indexed factory parts! Also I have never had a problem with alignment. Now aftermarket, thats a different ball game alltogether!

Ok...but I still don't understand the need to ???

The reason I needed to change the flywheel is because I was un-knowingly trying to squeeze a 11" aftermarket flywheel into a stock 10 1/2" bellhousing

Awesome job on that car. Looks fan-fraking-tastic.

What's the schedule now? MCG article to help promotion, and then Arizona in January? I know you have the cars destiny all planned out already.

please resist the MCG article! They will probably junk-up the photos with "edgy" graphics while writing everything in the superlative.

Hey Alan, once you had the engine and K-member under the car, what method did you use to lower the car down over the whole assembly?

A engine hoist over the rad support with long tie straps hooked to the frame in front of the K member bolt holes...That process took less then 20 mins.

Will it be at the Nats or Carlisle next year, I know you are selling it but is the buyer planning to attend either one?

If own it (cars are never sold until cash is in hand) it WILL be at Carlisle and Moparfest.

If it does sell....I can't say where it will be, I know my white car showed up at the Don Garlits show one year

Alan, I'm sure some has asked before but I'll ask... where is the under-coating?

Undercoating is the last thing to be done. Everything gets covered with some amount of undercoat overspray, even the shocks, exhaust etc....

Don't worry, it's coming....

Awesome. We're you able to track down some of the original factory workers to have them fingerprint the parts under the dash?

I mean these can't be 100% unless they have the original fingerprints... J/K... Looks great

So you're assuming the factory casting and machining is perfectly accurate and that any engine work hasn't moved the crank centerline.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not the one that said you NEEDED to do it, was just responding to this statement of yours:

I wasn't aware of any adjustments that can be made to a factory bellhousing

So, you guys are assuming the guys on the assembly line were indexing bellhousings on these cars? Or that the engine work on this car actually moved the centerline of the crank
I know there is lots of detail on this car, but give the guy a break...

I know it's been three years, but I'm pretty sure that when we were counting out all that cash, you mentioned that if you ever got a hold of the original shaker stuff that you would pass it along..."part of the deal"

What I was mentioning about indexing the bellhousing, is it should be done, even with factory parts.

Maybe Sandy from sandysgarage.com can chime in here. he had a ball getting his aligned right.

I may have said something along those lines .....Right after you said that i would be getting FULL credit for diggin up the old rotter ..... so far nothing but derogatory stuff ! So I think ill just keep the shaker pieces for wall art. Besides even YOU couldnt restore this .
