The GTX belts out in excess of 600hp to the wheels and I had no problems steering with one hand (manual steering no less) while rowing the shifter with slicks out back with 8 pounds of air inflation.
That's a real poor example, as you (I guess) are referring to dragstrip scenerio
And I made it equally clear that it was a street driven car, matter of fact it was my daily driver well through 80's and part of the 90's along with a really healthy '67 Dart.

You see more cornering in the street than a 1/4 mile track.
I'm sorry, perhaps you could help me clarify what I posted.
What part of STREET DRIVEN DAILY DRIVER was not clear?
I drove it too and from work, a fair distance every single day. And being in New England there were actual corners time to time! I even ran errands with it as you would a daily driven car.
With 15" rallyes and the factory HD suspension the handling was very acceptible.

"Acceptable" and "well" are a world apart in handling. If you had driven it with the bar hooked up you would have realized how much better it handled on the street.
What makes you think I did not?
The bar is still in the car, all I did was disconnect the links. The handling between running with the bar hooked up and without was not worth me getting excited about.
With good rubber and rims the difference shrinks, as I already pointed out several posts ago.
Again, as the original poster states (whom this thread is about) would **he** find a difference in having a bar hooked up or not.
Based on his expected driving style I doubt he would notice a difference since in this day and age I doubt he would be running 30 year old bias ply tires.

Yeah your sway bar is not doing anything right now.
Is this something you can clean up and take to a muffler shop or someone with a mig welder?
It does not look like a tough job may even cost as little as $20
Allen
Here's a novel idea, let's not throw a bunch of parts at the car hoping it will fix the problem and instead spend a little time diagnosing it first.
Life was a little easier when I was just a wrench.

Here are some pics of the broken bracket. Any ideas of how this can be repaired? Is it as easyu as just disconnecting the link, having the bracket welded back in place and reinstalling the link? Or is this repair more involved?
passenger side(Bracket broke off)
Drivers side(Bracket still intact)
Pretty easy, just weld it back with some reinforcements. (maybe a plate over the frame before putting the bracket back on.
The sway bar actually improves handling, and came on most of the larger cars because of the vehicle weight and mild torsen bar spring rates (for that soft ride.) Installing stiffer torsen bars or reducing the vehicle weight will improve handling, but the ride will be stiffer. I think if the sway bar is removed the car may want to understeer more than if it is installed.

I would say it depends on the T-bar rates also. Small/stock t-bars on that car and I would definately want a sway bar, if you put bigger t-bars on it would do fine with out them. Several different lines of thought to think about, some guys like heavy t-bars and mild or no sway bars at all, this kind of a set up tends to brake better because you get less brake dive meaning the rear tires stay planted better and can do more stoping work. Setting your car up this way will have a stiffer ride and arguably good handling. Second line of thought is big sway bars and little t-bars, this will give you a better ride and good handling but brakeing suffers, weight transfer on acceleration is better this way though. As for the original poster I would want anything that would help my handling on that beast especially if it is all stock suspension
