The 2 piece valves for a 71 car are reproduced and sold by FineLines and others and they look very correct and are not that expensive. Also , if you need a tank I have a mint 71 Charger gas tank you can have (28k mile car )...I just want to get rid of it. I have a good working PU (3/8) also. That gonna be a nice 71.

THESHAKERPROJECT Thanks man! Check your PM's i do need a gas tank and sending unit!

So I threw the headliner in, started clamping it up, and realized i need more clamps for it to meet my standards, so i need to get more...

And the Bracket i made for the proportioning valve, works great, and you can not even really tell there is anything going on...

Got the rear in, just need to get the shock, brakes and backing plates done and installed...

Then i started in on the wiper motor resto...

Apart, some stuff cleaned and finished, others not...

And here it is all but done, i need to figure out where to get that orange rubber insulation that goes over the wires and put the to brackets back on, along with finding new rubber gromets...

73rrunner Thanks, The car bottom is undercoated currently. I would have liked to have a paint bottom but since i will be beating the snot out of the car i dont want to have to clean it all the time. The flash of my camera make the bottom look unfinished, it is but its just the flash.

sunroofgtx Thanks man, she likes painting, hates that im always working on the car but i promised if she can withstand another 5 weeks of suffering ill make it up to her. Shes coming out to the nats with me this year so ill introduce you two. Check your PM's on the Carlisle Spot...

ixelerate Well i have a 440 that was built for a different project. I did it when i was thirteen with my dad at a friends place in Michigan. It was built, then dynoed, then put on a motor stand for 6 years. I have been searching for Hemi stuff but right now its not going to happen, other things need to happend first. If i had the money about a month ago i found a KB aluminum hemi block, and heads for $2500 But didnt have the money so i had to watch someone else get that deal

Alrgiht guys well im focusing on the interior, trying to finish it completely so i can call it done. So i finished the headliner, almost messed it up when i sliced it for the dome light wiring

Finished cleaning and painting the Interior trim, well the girlfriend painted it, she had me scared and got a few runs but the paint that i used for it was great, it managed to run itself smooth

Then i started in on the dash harness, oh boy is this a mess, all i have been doing is cut, tracing the schematic, and soildering

I am using three harnesses to make one(one not pictured)...

One harness apart...

To give you and example of why three is making one, just take a look at the wiper connector on the left

hi
Steve, I just redid the wiring in my Demon. I didn't actually remove any wiring from the bulkhead connectors, but I untaped and rewrapped everything. Two pieces of advice:

#1 - keep everything running similar to how it was stock. It seems they actually did research on this, and found the most efficient way to run everything.

#2 - keep tiny zip ties handy and zip up the wiring into their specific bundles. Like all the wiring for the wiper motor for example would get a zip tie near the connector, in the middle, then down where it met the rest of the wires. This way, it's a breeze to wrap the wiring with electrical tape. Start from the bulkhead connector and work your way out. Snip the zip ties off as you get to them. It will keep the wiring where you want it, and will also make it MUCH easier to come back to if you have to walk away from it for some reason.

sharpie Thanks for the tips. I read your comment after i was to far in to do it that way. Im not running it like a stock harness at all, i improved it in my opinion. I each connector and genre of wiring wrapped up and running by themselves, that way if i ever have a problem with anything i cant just pull that part out, not the entire thing...

court9155 Thanks! What i did for the glass was pretty simple. Your supplies include windex, paper towels, rubbing compound (I used 3M's), a buffer (you can adapt any air or electric to for this and a polisher),and 3M's Finese it. I barely used the Finese it (polishing compound). Most of my stuff came out pretty nice with just using the rubbing compound and buffer, but if needed or desired you can use a polishing pad with the finese it. This proccess i made up so it could be improved im sure...

1)Use your windex and towels, clean up the glass to get ride of dirt and debris
2)Put the rubbing compound on the glass, rub it in and all over with your buffer. Then start buffing go over a 3-4 times with it in different directions. Then wipe and use windex to see what its looking like, if needed sand with 1500 or 2000 grit if scratches are present and do it again and then polish the same way you buffed if desired. If you need PM me and i can call you to explain it better!

Steve, you continue to impress with everything you tackle, and not just taking the easy way out. You have a great deal of documentation here, you should do a book similar to Project Charger. Not to take anything away from that book, but you've taken it to the next level as far as details go.
Looking forward to seeing it @ Carlisle.
Jim

Very Small update here...greg cleaned up the wiper assembly, and i put it back together with my homemade gaskets...

And the wiring is all but done, still had a few things to button up. I did it my way, which i think is easier, running each connector by iteself so that if there would ever be any problems i dont have to hack apart the entire harness, just that mini harness...

Well today i met up with Mike, THESHAKERPROJECT and he donated some parts; tank, sending unit, tachometer, front plate bracket for the car! Thanks again Mike!

Brakes almost done, just need to find a place that sells the clamp and metal spacer type things that go around the caliper bolts...

Interior coming together...

And just finishing the wiring

Thanks Dave!

Since Mike donated the tach i had to alter my lense setup. The top one is the one i was going to use, it was setup for a clock so there was a hole in the plastic. I couldnt leave it that way so i had to make it right...

Since i had to remove the one lens i decided that i would take them all out to get the best possible polish. Here they all are polished...

Then here they are reinstalled and back on the gauges, now i just need to hunt down some of those special clips that hold it onto the housing(the tach needle i will address later)...
