Steve - glad they arrived in good shape. They were going to go on my old Hemi Charger (see pic.), but that car burned beyond recognition back in Aug. 1984. The rear patch came off a junkyard Charger from Flint, MI. around 1982 - amazingly rust-free. The blue front patch came off a car in an Arizona junkyard in early 1984. I suppose you can put the patches to more use than I - heck I've had them for about 25 years! Time to put them to use.

Hey guys been kinda busy so i havent been able to get around to posting pictures, finals in school and all, but here is some updates... First i finished up patching the trunk extensions, butt welded of course... Then i moved into the rear of the car, where all of the focus is now. I needed to remove this gutter and quarter end as i have replacements from the parts car, and the quarter end on the passenger side as well. Then in order to do the trunk floor replacement the tail panel needs to come off and in addition is need some metal work, well a lot of it... Then i cut the quarter down a little bit and marked up the super bee to get a line to cut it out by... Still have a final tomorrow so i better get going! Steve

what do you wanna know about it? i got mine judged and have the sheet if you wanna see what all the points are for. i loved the nationals, but how it was judged(IMO) sucked. a 71 dart came in a few hours before they gave awards away(a day after they judged cars) and got in the top 4. also i got beat by a 01 neon r/t......in the stock class . the other two cars i got beat by were very nice

Is there a stock and modified class just like the other classes just refined to young guns only?

I believe they are all lumped together, which is unfortunate. I would at least like to see them have it divided into 1980 and up, and 1979 and down. Its hard for a Muscle Car owned by a young enthusiast to compete against an SRT-4 or Diesel Ram. I think with the work and effort that your car is receiving it will do well in that class, especially if the paint turns out nice.

Hey Steve,
This is the first time I have seen this thread. But I do remember seeing the car at the Mopar BBQ you had. I am really enjoy the progress shots, looks great so far. My oldest son will be 15 soon and people like you greatly inspire him to restore an old mopar one day.
Bill,
If you come up again you'll get to see her done! Its come a ways since the BBQ huh?

Thanks guys for the info about the Nats! I dont really care if it wins or not i just think its cool to see peoples reactions to your work and craftsmanship. It's the best feeling when people admire YOUR work! I'm extremely exciting about the invite to carlisle. Thats just plain awesome!
i felt the same way. just couldnt believe that a 01 neon beat out mine and other nice cars. there was a 71-4 b-body(can't remember what it was) that the guy had to use two cars(like yourself to get his going) but he used the whole front half of one and the back half of the other and welded them together. i couldnt believe it, i mean you couldnt tell at all. hope to see u again this year if i make it up

For those who don't know, I have added a Young Guns class to the Carlisle All-Chrysler Nationals and I strongly encourage the 16-25 crowd to participate. I agree that there needs to be multiple classes for the different cars and I will have that. However, I can't have classes with only a couple of cars in it so PLEASE pre-register for the Young Guns class if you are 16-25 because I will be using the pre-reg data to create classes for this year (since I have no historical data to go by). At the very least I would expect a class for RWD and one for FWD but beyond that it will depend on the pre-reg info. Here's the registration page for anyone who is interested: http://store.carlisleevents.com/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=CE&Category_Code=CANU. Young Guns is about half way down. Steve & co. - Keep up the great work!! I'll get out to your place to see it soon! Ed
