Merry Christmas Everyone!

Got some more work done tonight on the Bee! Had a victory dance after pulling these two bad boys off!!!

Now i can finally get into the rest of the trunk!

Once i had those off i completely took out the rest of the trunk on the drivers side and the extension...

I was test fitting the new metal and its going to need quite a bit of test fitting to make it fit perfect. Also noticed how bad the upper quarter is rotted

Let me tell you, this trunk floor, trunk extension is the most annoying pain in the butt project on the car...I have countless hours into it and the new metal will take a lot of time to get right too

But hope your all having a good christmas!

Merry Christmas to you as well. I hope Santa brings you some new spot weld cutters and a ton more patience! You're doing a great job,so keep up the good work.Looks like you might be able to patch that upper quarter if that's the only bad place. Also, you MIGHT be able to get the new one piece trunk floor in by removing one of the braces coming down from the package tray area to the inner wheelhouse. It looks like you could possibly wiggle it in there, since you already have the package tray and X braces out of the way.It would be easier than removing the tail light panel or a quarter panel if it will work. Good luck, and I admire your enthusiasm.

After i got home from the yard i did a little work after taking a nice nap! The rear quarters are going to need patched and i started on the passenger side since i already have its trunk extension out of the way. Someone had already patched it but im not pleased with the patch and call me anal but i want everything butt welded...

Im going to do a series of patches to keep the body lines as best a i can, if i had metal working machines it would be easier but this will do. Started but making a template for the lip...

Used the inner fenders off the parts metal for patching, here is is roughly cut...

After some more grinding i got it to a point i am happy with...

Then i made a template for the second patch panel of the bodyline lip...

Tomorrow i want to have all the patch panels cut and possibly tack them in

Well some exciting news so far today! Went back to the mopar yard and ended up buying another parts car It was a 72 charger 400 loaded to the bone car(was). Its rear end has been suspended off the ground for years resulting in a good trunk, trunk extensions and wheel tubs! Originally i was just going for the wheel tubs but after removing all the gross stuff we bought the car!

Here she is being hulled up front, gotta come back tomorrow with a trailer as i wasnt planning on buying a car!

And for the most exciting part of the day, i found a next to MINT dashpad. It has been out of the sun for who knows how long as it was in a car right next to the charger! The only defect is two tiny holes that were drilled, but that can easily be fixed! This thing is still soft and crackless!!! Oh and it was only $25

Expenses:
Car Cost - $1500
Deck lid (thanks to moparmarks) - $100
Front Grilles (thanks to moparmarks - $50
Sidemarkers (4) - $60
383/727 combo - $300

Parts Car (second one) - $125
Dash Pad - $25

Hey do they have any 66 or 67 Plymouth B bodies there? Whats the name/ where is it located?

Youve inspired me to keep going on the GTX, whether I sell it or not. Im getting ready to yank the engine and paint it its original color and clean up the engine bay now!

You guys are still doing a great job, you got right into that thing and tore it right up!

What are you planning to do for paint when the time comes?

Now I need to pin those needles, got to feel that heat
Hear my motor screamin while I'm tearin up the street

Its a local yard here in PA. There isnt much on that end a few but not too too much. If you want more details PM me...

We are going to go with black as the color, black on black with the flat black stripes will look great in my opinion!

Haha, you are going to have enough parts cars to make another entire car soon! If you come out to IL, I'll show you some more post 71 B-bodies you can pick some stuff up from!

Hotwheelsjr I am always rummaging through cars and vans to find parts that people "Hide for later" and forgot about in the past 30 years! The yard owner is a great guy and we've been doing business with him for as long as i can remember. When i find rare stuff tucked away hes always good to me and gives me the 80's value of the stuff! Great guy and i know this project would never have been able to be completed without his help, heck half the metal on the car came from his yard

Devil Well as you know its better to have a lot of extras parts then to have nothing at all. I would love to come out there and go junkyarding with yourself, its such a rush in my mind. I cant get enough of it

Hey guys! Went and got the parts car and here she is before and then after we cut her in half. We will be installing the trunk, trunk extensions, and tailpanel out of this car as a one piece unit to save on the pain of dealing with the new not so perfect sheetmetal...

I also started in on the quarter panel patching. As seen above there was some patching in a previous lift but i really did not like it and call me anal but i want it all butt welded. Here you can see the 5 piece design coming together. I am doing the five piece design to help keep the body lines as sharp as possible, and the second fact of not really having metal working tools. The five parts incase your wondering are the lower flange that attaches to the trunk extension, the wheel lip, the body lines that goes over the wheel lip, the lower quarter body lines, and the upper quarter body line!

finished off the quarter for the most part, still have a few more welds to make and some more grinding to do but it all came together pretty well! You can see pieces four and five being laying into place and then the almost final product! I feel accomplished for just fabricating that lower quarter, i know its nothing big but hey its still cool in my eyes!

Steve and company are doing a great job and I applaud them for their efforts! In fact, I'm so impressed by their work and dedication that I have invited them to be the featured Young Guns at Carlisle this coming July. Finished or not, you'll be able to see their work in person at the All-Chrysler Nationals. Keep up the great work!
