ever see that commercial for craftsman tools where the sporting event go wrongs and they show the mechanic guy grabbing his tools and sneaking off as the announcer says "not the official tools of professional XXXXX"
Well they need the guy who built the vault to tell us what tools he used to seal it up with cause they obviously were not craftsman....
Oh what a GREAT commercial that would make. Good one!

I can't believe none of the national news stations (atleast the ones I've seen) have said a word about this. I thought this would be in all the news around the country, but I guess opening a 50 yr old time capsule isn't news anymore.
Hasn't even shown up on Yahoo as a news item either...

Well, I have been in Tulsa for 14 hours now. I've seen the crane crew preparing the lift, talked to a woman who was present when the car was put into the vault, refused to be in a picture with Boyd, seen quite a few '57-'58 Plymouths and talked with people from all over the US as well as all over the world.
What sums up the whole thing best is what a gentleman from Forwardlook.net said.
"It's going to be beautiful"
No matter in what kind of a shape the car will be in it will be a unique moment in history for Mopar fans from all over the globe and Forward Look fans in particular. No matter what kind of a shape the car will be in it will still be a '57 Plymouth Belvedere 2dHT and that is simply beautiful. It will be a tribute to Virgil Exner who is regarded by many to be the greatest car designer ever. There are so many people here that when learning about the car for the first time instantly thought "I'm going to be there!" I can relate to the hardcore MoPar guy from New Zealand who had to take a sizeable loan to be here as I had to do the same. It doesn't matter. It will probably be one the greatest events ever. It is like the MoPar thing in general, if you have to ask you wouldn't understand.
It's all good, it's simply beautiful.
Hans
Fin-ally, someone's understanding the whole thing. Lots of finned Mopars gathering, like a Mecca, coming to see it's long awaited resurrection take place. So what if it's rusty? So what if it's not done 'just right"? Big stinkin' deal. It's the whole deal, the leading up to it, to actual raising and unveiling.
Some folks just don't get it,, same folks would be slobbering over themselves if this was a Hemi 'Cuda. Enjoy it for what it is.
I just hope someone is takiing pictures, capturing/copying videos from these TV stattions, etc.
Sign me up for a copy.

This "I am smarter/more cultured/more sophisticated than you" attitude from these liberal journalists is getting out of hand. They dont want to cover the event because that is something that "the common(read stupid) people do".
Ask them if they write to a sixth grade level (bet they do), and if Paris et. al. is "culture...
And I'm glad others 'get it' too. This is cool, no matter the condition. Boyd is the mainstream car guy for that level of culture, but I'll ignore him and concentrate on the neat stuff.
