After reading this thread with great interest I would like to add one thing: There are many items in this time capsule. The car is only one of the items in it. I dont care how they pull it out of the ground or what shape it is in. The fun is in the process of finding out how well everything comes out. Besides, it is a fun little peek at history, and a way to have a great event.

Here is another possibility that has to be thought of.
How were the microfiche stored? If they were just in an envelope with gas and cardboard oil containers in the trunk there may be another problem.
They were not figuring that they would be unearthing a waterlogged car. So there is a possibility that the microfiche is unreadable, or simply destroyed entirely. Again I say this as I don't remember reading how the microfiche was stored.

Speaking of the contents of the truck, if the trunk floor was rotten wouldn't there be Shlitz cans floating around?
Um, no. Didn't you see the gut on the one cop? I'm sure donuts by themselves didn't make that happen.

" Speaking of the contents of the truck, if the trunk floor was rotten wouldn't there be Shlitz cans floating around?" Probably rotted out like the trunk floor as aluminum cans weren't around yet. C'mon 6:30!! As others have said, I don't care what kind of shape its in, I just want to see it.

My understanding is it's in a metal vessel that was welded shut and placed in the truck.

Haha. I thought that too.
But just like when it was buried we were unclear of how it was lowered in, then raised for publicity photos.
In all reality IMO, I think the car is still Intact for the most part.
But I think the floors/trunk/frame might be holding on by a string.
I hope I'm wrong.
Gotta admit though, she is holding up strong from the pics released so far.
I wish her all the best.

Has anyone found out if CSPAN or another satellite channel is going to upload this feed? They are willing to let us watch at work, but here in So. Cal. we don't get Tulsa stations, and I have a feeling that the 2 sites will be overloaded..... Anyone? EDIT we've got Direct TV, and channel 102 has the 8 major news feeds, so it looks like we will be watching there to see who's covering.
