I would use the Harland Sharpes before I would use Indy's . I think they break quite often .
I've heard and read that also and now I've experienced it so I really don't want to go back with Indys. I've had good luck with Harland Sharp in the past but that was on smaller less powerful motors that weren't on nitrous and didn't turn as much rpm. Are they holding up well on higher rpm big blocks?

I'm running Harlands on my 500" 440-1 headed motor, 706/661 roller.

I have a set of T&D's in the Shelf, 1.6:1 ratio...., however, since I'm in Finland that doesn't help much. They have been tried three times, but didn't work in our application. I've been asking 550€ for them locally.

What should I expect to pay for a set of T&Ds versus a set of Harlands? I see that Best Machine sells T&D so is that about the best place to get them? I wonder if anyone stocks them so they don't have to be ordered??
T&D's paired 980.00 I believe list price on the H S are more .

I would run the Jesel paired roacker arm set up. One of the best upgrades I ever did to my 440-1's.

I ran the Jesel system with a solid roller, and of coarse no problems. Before I ran the Indy/Dove rockers with a .650 flat tappet. If Harland Sharps are the same price as T&D I would go that route.
Have you contacted Jeff at MCH, or Todd Marsh, Dewayne Porter, and Best Machine...these guys are dealers of T&D..also Nick at Compu-flow...
I bet some one has a set on the self.
just some idea's

what wrong with indy's
This motor has between 50 - 60 passes and a rocker arm has already broken. Plus I've heard lots of other people have trouble with their rockers.
Thanks for all the info guys!

Nothing in the intended application, In a 540 Cubic inch NOS motor IMO is not one of them. I bet the engine has a solid roller cam and 600-700+ lbs open pressure. I betting the guys at Indy's own personal engine's doesnt have them in this type application for good reason. I would use them in a second in a mech flat cam street car. If there is money well spent in any performance engine it always pay to have good valve train equipment. I would use stock stamped rocker arms in a street engine, even if I was given a NEW SET of ProForm rocker arms...WHY? I know the stock stuff can take the abuse for 100,000+ miles of use.
Good point. I really should have known better but when I first started this project with these heads it wasn't going to be this powerful of a motor. Live and learn I guess!

In our use, some 200+ seat pressure and 600+ open, 0.683" roller. The Indy rockers lasted 2-3 years of street & strip use, a couple of thousand miles a year. Most likely you would need new pushrods even with the Harlan Sharps even though they use the cup end, the needed length is different than with the Indy/Doves, I think.
