How do you go about pulling the bumpers in on 73 up E-bodies?? I want to ditch the fillers on a '73 and make it look like a 72.
I imagine the front brackets can be redrilled by the amount you want them pulled in, but what about the rears? Have to get a different bracket?

The bumpers are the same shape, however, I believe the mounting holes may be re-located differently between 70-72, & 73-74. Also, the 73-74 has slots in them for the bumper jack, whereas the 70-72 has a cut-out under the bottom lip for the jack hook to grab.
As far as the brackets, 70-72 will work, for front and rear. As mentioned, you can re-drill the fronts. I've heard that some guys have cut & re-welded the rears, but 70-72 brackets would be a whole lot easier.
For the front, you'll also need the corner rubber wedges, which are re-popped.
For the rear, you'll need the thin metal filler strip from 70-72. I used sheet metal screws on the underside flange of the filler to attach it to the rear tail panel of my 73 Challenger. You'll also need the thin chrome vertical guards, with or without rubber rub strips, which fill the rectangular holes in your valance where the formerly huge guards resided. Lastly, the triangular bracket on the rear valance needs to be cut off. Otherwise, the license plate sticks out too far, and the license plate light won't illuminate it....

The 72 bumper uses the newer style jack. It has slotts just like the 73-74. I don't know if all of them came that way or if it was changed early on during production.
Thanks for the info.
