Hi,
Can anyone tell me which brand name bearing manufacturer makes the #3 bearing with an oversize thrust "lip" to take up the thrust surface wear which is quite often evident in RB cranks ?

The rest of the crank is std/std and in great condition. It will now be used in a 4 speed car, so the thrust issue needs to be sorted correctly.
Probably would have let it go if it was going back to an auto trans...

Thanks
Nick

I believe the '74 and later #3 bearing has a larger flange but it needs to be in a '74 or later cap because the cap will have a larger machined recess to accomodate the larger bearing.

The older pre about 74 mains had the narrow thrust flange and the later the wide thruust flange. You can use the older narrow thrust bearing in the newer block but you can't use the newer wide thrust bearings in the older blocks.

Clean it, if it's Dirty. Oil it, if it Squeaks. But: Don't fix it, if it Works!
