I am building a world products block and will use a 4.500 stroke crank with 7.100 rods, w/4.25 finished bore.. standard deck height 10.725.
I need to get custom pistons made (J/E). Does anyone know if the Piston compression height (calculated to be 1.375" puts the pin into the oil ring land ..?.. probems with this scenario...? ... balancing ..?
Any help, suggestions or comments appreciated!

All I can tell you for sure is, that my 4.50" stroke with 7.100 rods put the pin in the oil ring land and requires a support rail. This is not a problem.

4.5 stroke, 7.1 rod, you will need support rails.

Look here is my 572 rod and piston. Yes the wrist pin is in the oil ring.

Thanks a million for your help!

Hoping to get a combo that balances up alright without cutting into rods/pistons/crank. Any thoughts appreciated. J/E Pistons (11:1 w/ 168cc Stage V Heads) + 7.100 parabolic beam Oliver Rods + billet crank (FHO)/or Ohio Crank (still undecided). street motor.

I used a 7.0 K1 chevy rod and chevy pin with a 4.5 stroke and the pin clears the bottom ring land. Plenty of people have run with no issues with the support rail but this is another option.

Hmmmm.......FWIW I am using the K1 4.5 crank with Chevy pin size and K1 7.1 rods. My pistons are CP.
I did have to use support rails in my engine.
I guess the top ring placement could be moved up, but......

I used 4.5 K1 crank but with Diamond pistons. Definetly no support rail with 7" rod. Pistons were spec'ed by Dram.
