Having a hard time finding a fuel tank and brake componets (wheel cylinders, master, brakes, etc) for a 1953 B3 1/2 ton pickup. Does anyone know where to look or like a parts interchange off of another vehicle???

Ramified, I got a lot of my parts for my '51 from Roberts Motor Parts (in MA): http://www.robertsmotorparts.com/index.html

Here's the link to some of the brake parts: http://www.robertsmotorparts.com/truck_parts.asp?Action=search&c=Trucks+%2D+Brake+Parts

I have also used Andy Bernbaum Auto Parts Inc (also in MA): http://www.oldmoparts.com/

Here's the link to the brake parts: http://www.oldmoparts.com/g.htm

I hope this helps.

Good luck finding an original fuel tank that is not rotted out. I just modified my first one and put a tank from a mid 70s Cordoba behind the rear axle.

www.robertsmotorparts.com has a lot of stuff for that era truck. I've gotten weatherstripping and other things from them. They know these trucks.

My current 50 is on an 80 Dodge short box 4x4 frame. It has a 360, 727, 9 1/4 rear and a D44 front with 3:55 gears. Gene

Taking good measurements and checking your local salvage yard is about the best bet.
If you really can't find anything, these guys can make one, but it's expensive. The one for my 47 sedan was priced at $800! I had the old one cleaned out at the local radiator shop.

I don't know how much carries over, but there is an active Power wagon site here.

Most qualified welding shops can build a tank for you, but they won't have the pretty curved corners. You just need a good guage/fuel pickup fitting to put into the tank. Gene
