I'm running a ngk 5672A-8 #7173 sparkplug and need the gap size.
Indy 440-1 aluminum heads.

I don't mess with them, just take the plugs out of the box and run them. NGK plugs are usually gapped just fine right out of the box.

N.A. I would set them at .035 which OOTB is what they should be close to.

It depends on which ignition and plug wires as far as how much gap I would use as well as how much compression ratio and fuel used twocents work

The old testing standard use to be to open them up from .035 in .005 increments and keep opening it until it would start to miss or not pull hard in high gear in the 1/4 mile and then back it down to where it didn't miss up wrench scope
I've ran the old Champion race plugs as far as .090 wide with an MSD 404B box and matching Mallory coil with solid core plug wires boogie up

We run the -7 plug gapped at .035 N/A running E85

I ran R5671A-8 NGK plugs gapped .030"-.035" on a 14:1 compression Indy headed 440 w/ C12 fuel.
