^^^ laugh2 Yeah, bet it smells wonderful in there...
Nevertheless, seems like a decent enough price, depending on the problems alluded to.
Seems to me a 360 "ain't enough motor", though I know of a medium-duty car hauler (D600 ?) that ran one well into the 1990s.

If it's truly rust free it's not priced hateful.

Color combo isnt the best. but not hateful either. I could live with it

Perfect candidate for a cummins swap.

Put a bicycle in the back of that and its gonna be underpowered.
Regular cabs trucks are a tough sell though

I had a 79 d300 w/ 360 that I put headers and an intake on. Added a hot ignition box too. Ended up at one point pulling the pan and installing a windage tray. It surprised the hell out of people. Made enough more power that I had to go to a centerforce clutch to hold it. I know this one is an auto, but you could wake it up for not much money. I don’t know about a price.

I want my fair share

No mention of overdrive, did they come with it in 85? With no overdrive that 4:10 gear is going to be a beating.

I bought a 1980 D200 in 1982. It was a heavy 3/4 ton (9900 gvw). It had the 360 with a thermoquad, automatic, and 4.10 gears. The speed limit was 55mph then. If I kept it right on 55, I got 10 mpg with the Belvedere on an open trailer. It only had an 18 gallon tank. I could make a round trip to Muncie on a Saturday night and have just enough gas to get to the gas station the next morning.

Friend of mine bought that identical truck new, Used it to put a huge boat in and out of nearby lake. And occasionally haul gravel for his driveway. Think it had a Q-jet carb.

I had an 88 and it, too, had the Q-jet.

Our first race car tow rig was an '81 with a 360/TQ, 4 SPD with 4.10's. Very solid puller, even with 120,000 miles on it. We even hauled a 9 1/2 ft camper and pulled the car. When I bought that truck I put new plug wires on it, tweaked the TQ and the timing, and ran a single 3" exhaust outlet with no muffler. Exiting at the side, it was only loud at WOT, thanks to the stock manifolds. Before we got the camper, we were heading home from the track, with a friend pulling his Firebird behind a 78 GMC with a 454 right behind us. We hit the bottom of a long grade, and my buddy figured he'd show me how a 454 pulls. I let him get abreast of my car, then I let the ol' Thermo-Bog eat. He never did get better than right alongside me. Then I actually pulled away. I know. I know. 454's were generally better pullers than 360's. But, a 360 with 4.10's, pulling 4500 lbs, could easily run with a 454 pulling similar, using 3.42's. Double those trailer weights, and that 360's out of its depth.
