I just installed new hotchkis adjustable strut rods on my cuda, and unfortunately, even with the price they charge, they make you reuse the 50 year old hardware. I removed the original nuts from the strut rods and they came off fairly easily and the threads look good as well. However, when I go to install them onto the new strut rods, they feel like they are wanting to cross thread after a while. Is this normal due to them being ovaled from the factory to help keep them locked in place once tightened, or is there something that I'm missing?

Does anyone know what size they are? I believe 9/16-18 but I'm not positive.
