Yes, the cage is horrible. The grille is not much better. However, I do like the rest of it.

Not sure what they were thinking with the eyebrow and A pillar bars. Looks like the main hoop is tucked up, but the rest of it isn't very well thought out.

Lots of money spent. Interesting no props or mention of who did the chassis.

I do like that they cut the headrests down on those Kirkeys. Look much better. Almost tolerable.

If the results don't match the theory, change the theory.

My first thought was mid 60's AMC Rambler grille

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is.

That was a high dollar build, like someone said they could have design that halo better than that.

Nice car , hood scoop doesn't appeal to me .. I'm sure it's at minimum a $300,000 build.

Lang Paciulli (LP Racing) did the suspension and the 'cage...it mentions that in the article.
I agree the 'cage is not good. The car is painted a Corvette color. down
The grille and front bumper are horrid IMO.

I often laugh when rides like these are stated as being a "street car".
"With plenty of components to ensure it is street-worthy".
Where are you really going to go "cruising" in this?, other the nearby soda-hop?

Maybe a Buick that crashed through a hardware store...
While I can appreciate the fab work - the design of the front end and the cage are..."goofy" would be polite...
And then there's the hood...

Aesthetic design matters.
