To change the 5.5 front bolt pattern on a 90 truck/ramcharger. To a 4.5 bolt pattern
Possible something I can go to the parts store and bring home bolt right on

Reason is. There is crap in wheel selection in a 5.5 pattern

No. There are tons of 5 on 5 1/2 wheel available.

This is not 4x4
I have yet seen a wheel that looks like a hot rod wheel in a 5.5
I'd like something like this

2wd you might find one that will work. Just google 5x5.5 to 5x4.5 wheel adapters.

Thought pre '85 rotors and axles would swap

Well the front will be the hardest to get converted. If I can get that lined out. A 8 3/4 rear will be how the back will be done and in the process prob a little more narrow then what has now

2 wheel drive? On the Dakotas you could just swap out the rotors to change the bolt pattern until 97. Don't remember what year the full sized trucks went to the sealed wheel bearings. If you have the sealed front wheel bearings, you would need to swap out the spindle as well as the rotor.

The 4x4 is a different story.

For a 90 truck you should be able to swap on 84 rotors. I don't think the bearings are different in that range.

What does "hot rod wheels" look like? Everybody has different opinions. They look like lambo wheels to me. You may try searching the MM size, A lot of the manufactures use metric 5 x 5.5" (5 x 139.7mm).

A 9.25 rear axle from a pre '85 should suit you as well. If you already have a 9.25 in your truck now you can simply swap axle shafts...

Go to your local auto parts store and ask them to compare front wheel bearings from a 90 Ramcharger to an 84 Ramcharger. If it's the same bearings, ask the same about rotor diameter. If those are the same, buy new rotors, bearings and brake pads and rock on! I'm going the opposite direction with my 88 D100. It has 5.5 bolt pattern on it, and I am installing an 8 3/4 out of a 72ish half ton. I bought a pair of axles from a 74 Power Wagon 8 3/4 with 5.5 bolt pattern. I'm going to swap them into the housing and use the existing back brakes on the truck.

Wasn't there a change in c clips and side gears to go along with that?

I seen some torque thrust wheels but they was 5 on 5 bolt pattern

I have a friend with a 88 said he bought front rotors for a 84 said was direct swap and that only differance between 84/85 was the bolt pattern
If this is the case all need to do is the rearend.......that I'd like to install a 8 3/4 and lower the back couple inches

Could be work Don't remember all the details but I know its doable. Unfortunately my memory is based on being able to just go to a bone yard and get the parts I needed for such endeavors but probably not so easy any more...
As for the front Rotors, an '84 D100/150 and a '92 D150 use the same wheel bearings (inner and outer) NAPA numbers PBR16 (Outer) and PBR11 (Inner)

Had a buddy with a Dodge van on which the rear end went out. Pinion seal went and he didn't know til it went "crunch crunch". He bought an 84 just for the rear end (had no motor/trans, seller was using it for a a shed) and I put it in for him, bolted right in, just had to use the axles and drums, from the original rear end.
Though these were 8-1/4s I was dealing with.

The wheels that will be going onto the the r.c.

Had a buddy that has already done it on his truck. Seams the only differance on the front rotors from a earl 80s. And a 85 up is the bolt pattern. Rock auto had hubs for 43 bucks each. So that solved front. I just picked up old taper axel 8 3/4 out of a 60 something truck with a sure gri0 for 50 bucks. So that takes care of the rear
Later I may put in normal axels...but for now. Il use as is

Just a minor note, some of the late 1984 trucks may have had the larger pattern wheels. (Like the 1985+ trucks.)
