I think they stretch a lot more than people think at first and then the rate of stretch tapers off.

Bicycle chains behave that way for me. Install and readjust after putting some miles on them to take the initial break-in slack out and then you don't have to do it as much.

Baking the chain in oil reduces the initial chain stretch...

You should degree every one. I trust none.
iagree If you don't know how to do that and don't have the proper tools to degree the cam, get help or have someone who knows how to degree them properly do that for you wrench up You won't be sorry for getting it (the new cam) installed properly, trust me on that up
Some the new timing sets have the dot on the cam gear between teeth, not directly under one or the other puke whiney That can make the difference of having the cam installed properly or being retarded 12 degrees tskscope panic

I find it interesting that you haven't looked at the service manual. It tells you how much is too much slop.

I suggest you look it up.

if your calling the double one pictured above stock, your way good. If you have a stock link single tooth replacement (steel gears) your still good.

That cam is small enough that stock stamped steel rockers should be fine.

Folks would be amazed what stamped steel rockers can handle. When 16 and before the internet was here to tell me how wrong I was the mopar 508/292 with adjustable push rods ran all summer in the local street bracket class. I wondered why it would break up over 7200. whistling

OP.... you must have money to blow because your making something so so simple into something so difficult and costly, but its your money.

$92 for a chain set no better then the $50 BUT it has three keyways which means nothing if your not going to degree it.

Same thing as the edelgobroke but 1/2 the cost.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/386114754231?

Here is the good quality billet thats great for any street/bracket..... SA Billet for same cost as the edlejunk.

Ok, thanks, Mine is just mostly a cruiser & do burn outs at car shows, only took it to the strip once, so it seem like this should work for me ok, I only had it over 5000rpm one time for short time & that was by adjusting the kickdown to wear it would kick in above 60!
