1980 D200 std. cab, long box 318 4 gear, Dana 60 Since I got it on the road, the clutch chatters bad for about 8000K (5000M). Trans (can't call it a tranny anymore) seems noisy
and is hard to shift on occasion. Thought it would be cheaper to swap in my good 727 and I have all the bits and pieces. Question is, two piece driveshaft. My
Hollander shows the same front D/S for both std. and auto. Haven't rolled my carcass under the truck for a measure yet, wondering if anyone has done this and could
shed a little light on the matter.
Thanks

If the 727 has a long tail shaft with a slip yoke it will not fit. Your 4 speed should have a yoke with a bolt on u-joint. So if that's the case a short shaft 727 should fit.

Yep, the truck 727 was a short tail shaft with a bolted on rear yoke, not a slip in one. If you use a car 727, the driveshaft is going to be different.

Thanks guys, kind of figured that. Trans is in a B300 van, but is a long tailshaft. Looks like I have to track down a one piece d/s.

for whatever this is worth..........
i tore apart a small block truck 727 with the short tailshaft and bolt on yolk, then used the tailshaft and output shaft [plus the associated pieces] in a big block case when i put a 440 into my 74 shop/junkyard pickup.
