Hey guys, I am looking for a few parts for my 38 Dodge truck, thought I would ask here, see if anybody has parts they are willing to sell. I am looking for outside door handles, the Dodge emblem for the center of the dash, a passenger rear fender, and a pair of tailight brackets.
Please let me know if you have or know someone that does, thanks in advance.

Roberts Motor Parts may have the door handles. Try giving them a call.

II appreciate you letting me know, here is how I got the truck, ( have the grill some other parts were inside), it is torn apart now, rack and pinion front with disc brakes, we made a set of CalTrac bars and Split Mono springs for it, 8.75 rear with 3.55 suregrip, mounted a fuel cell behind the rear axle.

Looks like a great starting point.

I found this place just after I "finished up" my 37, so I really haven't dealt with him but he does seem to have some nice patch panels if you need them.

Does yours have the fender mounted spare?

It does have the fender mounted spare, I wish it didn't, I bought a weld in patch for that from a JR's PT50 site, but it seems a bit too small, like 1/4-3/8" all the way around, got a fuel neck hole cover from him as well.
I got all new glass for it from a place in Washington state, found the windshield crank that goes in the center of the dash, I don't have the mechanism, not sure what I will do there.

Will the windshield mechanism from a 39-47 work?
I happen to have one here (missing the crank handle, but the mechanism works great). PM me.

No. The later windshield drive mechanisms are quite a bit different.

“…..It does have the fender mounted spare, I wish it didn't, I bought a weld in patch for that from a JR's PT50 site, but it seems a bit too small, like 1/4-3/8"……”

Wow that’s quite a gap. I ended up making my own patch from a junk fender of that era (33 Chevy if I remember correctly).

I wonder if you could do kind of what I did and cut the bucket out right below the flange it’s spot welded to. The tabs could be used to help fill the gaps. I didn’t have a gap problem but I bent several of the taps up to hold the patch up while I welded it in (and then cut the tabs off from the bottom when I was done).

Over all it worked out well.

“………found the windshield crank that goes in the center of the dash, I don't have the mechanism, not sure what I will do there…….”

I ran in to the same problem and I really wanted to have a crank out windshield. The mechanism is pot metal and I’ve yet to come across one that isn’t broken or repairable. It made a good hole to stuff the oil pressure gauge in. I just ran a small bead of silicone around the windshield frame to seal the windshield in (I can get a thin knife in to cut the silicone if I ever have to remove the windshield).

Good luck on your search.

My body guy is going to weld a few braces just below the surface of the fender to see just how bad the gap is, then figures things from there.

I don't even know what that windshield mechanism even looks like, just got a shop manual, it should show some sort of pic or drawing of it, I would like to have the crank work and push the windshield just for the cool factor, but I am adding AC to the truck for the "real" cool part, lol.

Does anybody know the sizes/lengths of the hardware for the window garnishes, haven't gotten to that point, but I try to keep ahead of things like that as I go along. From what I understand, the battery was mounted behind the passenger front tire, may move that.
