Hi all, tried my tranny break today out of my shop doors and all seems to wrok well, I could only leave at 3000 rpm before footbraking and with the brake I floored it and stall went up to 4600, let go of the botton and out the doors I went, lol. One problem I found was I also changed the shifter plate on the b&m shifter for reverse pattern for 727 and can,t seem to find neutral, the car starts in first but not neutral position, and when I put it in neutral positon it wont start, but while it,s running I can shift to neutral position and rev it but when i push button down it goes in reverse. So not sure if my linkage is wrong or if I have to modify my shifter plate where the neutal bump is. Confusing or what, Also i,m wondering if reverse and neutral are shared, it is a griner brake. Tim

Hi Tim, If you are in neutral and hit the trans brake button, it will go into reverse thats normal. The other issue sounds like cable adjustment. Mine has to be in just the right spot to work properly.

Yes you can get reverse in reverse or neutral position with the Griner valve body.

You should get your shifter adjusted correctly before you race it. Having it between detents can cause problems. Keith

Thanks guys, yes I think it is cable adjustment and I will look at it tomorrow nite. And yes the tranny guy who built said it will go into reverse when I hit the button in neutral. In saying that I didn,t play with it to much as i have heard that if not adjusted properly can cause major problems in a hurry. I,m assuming the plate for my safety switch is normal so just have to adjust cable to get it just right. Video soon Todd, lol. Thanks guys, Tim
