Hey everyone a friend of mine has a nice small block in a 69 Dart with a bench. Street/strip car. Struggling with the right bench shifter that has a long enough stick but not too long where your knuckles hit the dash. Wouldn't mind a shorter throw either. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Currently its got a standard shifter assembly with a too-short aftermarket pistol grip.

I owned a 383 Dart GTS convertible. Only options were the GTS package and AM radio. It had a replacement Hurst shifter with the usual white ball when I bought it. The inland shifter was in the trunk in the Hurst box. Bought it for $500 in1974. Oh to be young again.

Look at the following Hurst #s:
Blade style, 5387436 & 5387438
Tube style, 538915,5389016, and 53900HST

I had a 70 Swinger 340 stick car. I made a straight stick about a foot long or so. It worked great for me, but I have monkey arms.

You’ll need it to look like the inland type

A body only came with 1 arm without a console , bench or buckets .

Have you friend look for a 71 B body bench shifter and a 70 bench shift b only shifter box. The 70 B only shifter box has longer arms out the bottom to shorten the throw of the long 70 B shifter length, should work nice with the longer 71 lever. I'm putting one in my 69 dart to shorten the throw.

running up my post count some more .

I have a little typo there , the 1970 B only shifter box is used with both bench seat shifter and the console shifter .

Here is a new one for bolt on handle shifter box new

Handle 71 B shifter handle
